SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT SUMMARY
( copied from onjezani kenani)

After reading the judgement for five hours, the Supreme Court has unanimously decided as follows:

The conduct of MEC in last year's elections demonstrated serious incompetence in multiple dimensions. The court is astounded by the lack of seriousness and level of incompetence of the Commissioners. It is hard to comprehend how MEC - whose role is referee in the election - found it necessary to appeal, and to even take sides with one of the candidates.
Mutharika was not duly elected as President of the Republic and has upheld the holding of fresh elections. However, the elections should have been held within 60 days, not 150 days, consistent with the principle that electoral disputes must be resolved expeditiously. Regardless, the SCA has reluctantly upheld that the elections be held in the 150 days determined earlier by the lower court.

Matter dismissed in its entirety with costs.
