I WILL FIX MALAWI WITHIN TWO YEARS- MUTHARIKA

The Former President of Malawi and the Leader of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Peter Mutharika says challenges facing Malawians will require him two years to devour and deal with them.

Mutharika said this at Njamba Freedom Park in Blantyre.

The Former Leader who looked charged, told the gathering that Tonse Alliance-led government has miserably failed Malawians.

"When I was voted President Malawi in 2014, I managed to solve socioeconomic challenges that came about by poor People's Party (PP) governance in one year," said Mutharika.

Mutharika further challenged the law enforcement agencies and President Lazarus Chakwera to ensure that people who attacked DPP followers in Mponela and Lilongwe were brought to book.

The DPP leader added by putting up serious allegations that there is an unidentified church plotting to rig the forthcoming elections.

BEMATI, SENIOR IMMIGRATION OFFICERS UNDER ACB PROBE

This publication has established, in confidence, that Shafiq Bemati, also known as Sadiq, and several senior officers at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services are under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

This follows revelations that Bemati was allegedly involved in a parallel immigration network suspected of processing fraudulent visas, work permits, residence permits and other immigration documents for foreign nationals entering Malawi or already residing in the country.

We can confirm that the matter, which is now on the table of the ACB, has attracted the attention of both the administration and the general public.
