National Library Service - Blantyre Regional Branch offers the following services:

- READERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT

This department offers free library service to all. We have in stock professional books, Academic books, Secondary School books, Fiction books, Easy-to-read books for children, Newspapers and Magazines. We receive new books from our headquarters every now and then.

OPENING HOURS:
MON-FRI - 8:30AM TO 5:00PM
SATUTDAY - 8:30AM TO 3PM
CLOSED ON SUNDAY AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

-EXTRA-MURAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT (OUTREACH DEPARTMENT) - ESD

ESD offers registration of library centers. Distribution of book donations to schools, rural community information service and District Assemblies libraries.

Training of library personnel from other libraries.

Monitoring and evaluation of Rural library centers.

Establishing small libraries/information centers in various institutions.

OPENING HOURS
MON-FRI - 8:30AM TO 4:30AM
CLOSED IN SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

-REFERENCE AND MALAWIANA

This department offers reference services. We have reference materials and research materials.

We have Malawiana Section where we stock books and publications about Malawi and books by Malawian authors.

SHARES THE OPENING HOURS OF THE READERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT

- THE CHILDREN'S LIBRARY

It has an attractive well colour coded space.

It is accessible to all children.

It provides a conducive environment for children's activities like reading aloud, songs, drama, spelling and story telling.

The library stocks books, games and toys.
