This week, Gozo hosts the 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐣𝐚 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 🐄🌾, celebrating more than 170 years of farming heritage. Today, this tradition showcases how agriculture has evolved into 𝐫𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 🚜, with local producers presenting quality products including wine, olive oil, honey, cheese, artisanal foods and livestock.

📉As inflation decreased from 𝟐.𝟑% 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐭𝐨 𝟐.𝟎% 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, Malta’s 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 (𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐏) remained consistently lower than the 🇪🇺 EU average throughout the first half of the year. By June, Malta’s inflation rate stood at 𝟐.𝟎%, compared with the 𝐄𝐔 𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝟐.𝟗%.
📊𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐒𝐎 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰:
📉𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐏 averaged 𝟐.𝟑% during the first quarter of 2026, before dropping to 𝟐.𝟎% in June 2026, compared with 𝟐.𝟓% in June 2025.
🛒𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱 (𝐑𝐏𝐈), which measures inflation from a domestic perspective, averaged 𝟐.𝟔% during the first quarter of 2026 before moving to 𝟐.𝟓% in June 2026, compared to 2.4% in June 2024.
✅This moderation in inflation is a sign of improved stability in prices, which supports household purchasing power and a favourable economic outlook.
