🤝 The MCESD extends its warmest congratulations to Hon. Keith Azzopardi Tanti on his appointment as Minister responsible for EU Funds, Social Dialogue and Consumer Protection.

At the same time, the MCESD expresses its sincere appreciation to the outgoing Parliamentary Secretary, Andy Ellul, for his collaboration and support throughout his tenure. 👍

The MCESD looks forward to working closely and constructively with the Minister in strengthening social dialogue and advancing initiatives for the benefit of the country. 🇲🇹

L-MCESD iltaqa’ f’Kastilja mal-Prim Ministru Robert Abela, il-Ministru Miriam Dalli u s-Segretarju Parlamentari Andy Ellul, fejn kienu wkoll preżenti diversi tekniċi. F'din il-laqgħa ġie diskuss is-settur tal-enerġija fid-dawl tal-isfidi ġeopolitiċi li hawn madwarna.

Ir-rapport juri progress pożittiv f’diversi setturi, b’ħarsa ċara lejn il-proġetti tal-2025 u l-indikaturi ekonomiċi ewlenin.

L-imsieħba soċjali enfasizzaw il-ħtieġa li tkompli tingħata prijorità lill-produttività, filwaqt li saħqu fuq l-importanza li pajjiżna jkompli jinvesti fit-teknoloġija u fl-innovazzjoni.

🤝 The official meeting between the General Workers’ Union and MCESD Chairperson Maria Micallef focused on strengthening the Council’s credibility and identifying key areas where its work can continue to enhance meaningful dialogue for the benefit of all.

Ms. Micallef highlighted the importance of the Young Shapers Forum, a new MCESD initiative aimed at introducing a fresh dimension to the Council’s work by gathering valuable insights and perspectives from across different sectors of society.

The Chairperson reiterated her commitment to continue working closely with the GWU and all social partners to make a positive and lasting difference.

📣 The Young Shapers Forum, together with the Chairperson and the Office of the Commissioner for Children, discussed Digitisation and AI.

Students actively participated, sharing ideas and strong opinions on how our country can improve in these areas. The input collected will be presented to the MCESD Council in April, with further important subjects to be discussed in upcoming sessions.

📣 The MCESD Young Shapers Forum held another meeting with the Chairperson and CEO, led by the Office of the Commissioner for Children . The session gave members a chance to connect and better understand their role within MCESD.

💡 🗣️ Through role-play, young participants highlighted the challenges Malta must prioritise, sharing bold ideas and honest insights. This exchange reinforces the Forum’s role in Social Dialogue, keeping youth voices at the heart of the conversations that matter.

🤝 Mr Michael Galea, Chairman of the Gozo Regional Committee (GRC), welcomed MCESD Chairperson Ms Maria Micallef to the GRC March committee meeting.

Members briefly outlined the most important priorities for Gozo.

👉Two main presentations were delivered during the meeting: one by Tony Zammit on Gozo’s role in Malta’s strategy for climate change adaptation and mitigation, and another by Jeurgen Attard from the GRDA, who presented interesting statistics on Mġarr Harbour ⚓
