🇲🇹 Skopert fl-1913 mill-bidwi Lorenzo Despott, il-Kumpless Preistoriku ta’ Ħal Tarxien jikkonsisti f'sit magħmul minn erba’ strutturi megalitiċi. Dawn inbnew għall-ewwel darba fin-Neolitiku Tardiv u aktar t**d ġew adattati mill-ġdid għall-użu matul iż-żmien tal-Bronż Bikri. L-istruttura tal-lvant hija l-eqdem parti tal-kumpless. Għalkemm illum fadal biss il-parti t’isfel tal-ħitan tagħha, il-faċċata konkava u l-ħames kmamar għadhom jidhru b’mod ċar, u jagħtuna ħarsa lejn it-tqassim oriġinali tagħhom. Skavi arkeoloġiċi estensivi twettqu bejn l-1915 u l-1919 taħt id-direzzjoni ta’ Sir Themistocles Zammit, li dak iż-żmien kien id-Direttur tal-Mużewijiet, u li kkontribwew b’mod sinifikanti biex nifhmu aħjar dan is-sit preistoriku importanti.

🇬🇧 Discovered in 1913 by farmer Lorenzo Despott, the Ħal Tarxien Prehistoric Complex is made up of a complex of four megalithic structures. These were first built in the Late Neolithic period and later readapted for use during the Early Bronze Age. The easternmost structure is the oldest part of the complex. Although only the lower part of its walls survives today, its concave façade and five chambers are still clearly visible, offering a glimpse into its original layout. Extensive archaeological excavations were carried out between 1915 and 1919 under the direction of Sir Themistocles Zammit, who was Director of Museums at the time, helping to shape our understanding of this important prehistoric site.
