It was a real pleasure to visit Aġenzija Żgħażagħ as part of the lead‑up to the King’s Birthday Party celebrations, in collaboration with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Malta.

During the visit, we learnt more about the Award and the important role it plays in supporting young people as they navigate the challenges they face today—encouraging them to build confidence, develop new skills and contribute positively to their communities.

We also had the opportunity to watch an engaging video marking 15 years of Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, highlighting the organisation’s continued commitment to empowering young people through opportunities for learning, creativity and personal growth.

It was especially inspiring to meet some of the young people involved, hear their experiences first‑hand, and see the activities they take part in. From hands‑on sessions to everyday support, it was clear how much of a difference these programmes make.

Seeing the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in action—making a real impact in the lives of young people—was truly rewarding. A sincere thank you to Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and all the participants for such a warm and insightful visit.

It was a pleasure to welcome Heads of Mission accredited to the Court of St James’s to Malta as part of a visit led by Malta’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr Stephen Montefort, including Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Ivan Romero-Martinez.

Thank you to Dr Kenneth Spiteri and the Mediterranean Conference Centre for hosting an evening overlooking the Grand Harbour and for sharing the vision for this iconic Maltese venue.

The UK and Malta benefit from strong international partnerships, and opportunities such as these help deepen the connections that underpin modern diplomacy.
