Nhar il-Ġimgħa 19 ta' Ġunju 2026 imiss il-ġabra tal-ħġieġ ♻️

Huwa mportanti ħafna li l-ħġieġ jinħareġ f'kontenitur li jista' jerġa' jintuża ☺️

Meta jinġabar il-ħġieġ il-kontenitur għandu jerġa jiddaħħal ġewwa 🙌

Next Friday 19th June 2026 is glass collection day ♻

It is very important that glass is taken out in a container that can be reused ☺️

Once the glass is collected the container must be taken back indoors 🙌

Refugee Week takes place from June 15 to June 21, centred around World Refugee Day which is on June 20 🌍🤝

This year’s local theme, “Qlubija” ❤️: courage from the heart, reflects the strength it takes to start over, to navigate uncertainty, and to keep moving forward while building a new sense of home 🏠✨ It also speaks to the quiet and powerful courage of communities who choose welcome, dignity, and solidarity 🤲🌿

During Refugee Week, we honour the journeys, voices, and contributions of refugees, while recognising the shared humanity that connects us all 🌍💛 especially around World Refugee Day.

Let’s use this week to listen more closely 👂, stand together more firmly 🤝, and build a community where belonging is not a privilege, but a shared commitment 🌱

🌿📚 Last Thursday, members from the Eastern Regional Council had the opportunity to attend the final presentations of the EMP 2023 – Project Management study unit, by the second year students at the Institute of Earth Systems - University of Malta .

🎓 During the morning session, students showcased the results of their hard work and dedication by presenting detailed research, project plans, and cost analyses focusing on four important valleys located within the Eastern Region: 🌱 Wied Mejxu, 🌾 Wied id-Dis, 🌳 Wied Għomor, and 🌊 Wied Ħarq Ħammiem.

📊 The presentations highlighted the students’ comprehensive approach to project management, incorporating environmental research, stakeholder considerations, budgeting, and sustainable development strategies aimed at enhancing and protecting these valuable natural spaces.

🤝 Members of the Eastern Regional Council were impressed by the quality of the work presented and welcomed the innovative ideas and practical recommendations put forward by the students. Such collaborations between academia and local governance play an important role in fostering environmental stewardship, encouraging evidence-based decision-making, and supporting the sustainable management of Malta’s natural heritage. 🌍💚

👏 The Council would like to congratulate all participating students and lecturers for their commitment and professionalism and looks forward to seeing future initiatives that contribute to the conservation and enhancement of the Eastern Region’s valleys. 🌿✨
