Din l-Art Helwa won a Grand Prix award and another one in the category of Europa Nostra Champions in recognition of 60 years of voluntary work in Malta, saving historical buildings, educating people and safeguarding our cultural heritage.
In the words of Din l-Art Helwa's public post: "These are awards which go to ALL THE VOLUNTEERS, DONORS AND SPONSORS who helped the organisation throughout these years."

This morning, Mamo Tower hosted one of the stops of the cultural bicycle ride organised by Servizzi Ewropej f' Malta (SEM).

Mamo Tower has on various occassions benefited from European funds to ensure its ongoing upkeep for the public to enjoy.

📣 Din l-Art Ħelwa is seeking a candidate to support the NGO in continuing its mission of safeguarding Malta’s cultural and environmental heritage. 🏛️🌿

The ideal candidate should:

- Have a genuine interest in heritage conservation and environmental advocacy.

- Have an educational background in either architecture, planning, heritage studies, archaeology, geography, environmental studies or a related field.

- Be able to read and interpret architectural drawings and plans.

- Be comfortable adopting and implementing digital tools such as Excel to improve internal systems for tracking cases, workflows, and organisational priorities.

- Be fluent in English and Maltese.

The Australian War Memorial's 'A Camera on Gallipoli' exhibition provides visitors with the opportunity to view the photographs of surgeon Sir Charles Ryan, a senior medical officer in the Australian Imperial Force (AIF). These images take us behind the stirring accounts of battle being reported at home to reveal the dry, forbidding landscape, tired troops in the trenches, squalid dug-outs, and the horrendous task of burying the dead. Here, in Ryan's display of mate-ship, stoicism and dogged endurance, is the spirit of Anzac.

The exhibition also links the 1915 Gallipoli campaign to a series of downloadable 'ANZAC Experience in Malta' self-guided tours that detail where wounded Anzacs who were brought to Malta for medical treatment, convalesced, were entertained and hospitalised, and the various final resting places of those service personnel who lost their lives.

This exhibition is arranged in collaboration between Din l-Art Ħelwa and the
Australian High Commission, Malta, and is sponsored by Virtu Ferries.

Din l-Art Ħelwa is proud to announce its membership in Forte Cultura, a European Cultural Route and international network dedicated to the research, protection, and sustainable use of historic fortifications.

Founded in 2014, Forte Cultura brings together 64 fortified heritage sites across 15 countries, promoting cooperation, knowledge exchange, and cultural tourism. Through this membership, Din l-Art Ħelwa joins a Europe-wide network committed to conserving and interpreting fortress heritage, while increasing the international visibility of Malta’s fortifications.

As Malta’s National Trust, Din l-Art Ħelwa has spent 60 years safeguarding the country’s cultural and natural heritage. Joining Forte Cultura marks a natural step forward, strengthening Malta’s place within Europe’s shared cultural story.
