Our Story

There is established an Office of Special Assistant for Youth Affairs (Office of Youth Affairs) within the Office of the Governor whose purpose is to develop comprehensive youth development plans and policies, and to develop and offer programs and services for the Youth of the Commonwealth to assist the youth in developing their full potential.

Through the efforts of Governor Torres’ administration, our Office has been able to expand and renovate existing youth centers, increase community partnerships for our youth, and develop more structured after school and summer programs.

Our priorities are to serve the overall youth population focusing on programs such as culture, talent and arts, recreation, character building, leadership training, career exploration, drug and violence prevention, and health promotion.

Over time, we envision a Commonwealth where youth and their families are able to have active participation not only in their education, but also in their communities. #ONECNMI #ONEMARIANAS #MARIANASSTRONG
