After four years my mandate as Head of Mission of Italy to Myanmar comes to a term. I am leaving Myanmar but Myanmar will not leave me and will continue to inhabit my soul and my life-experience . I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart all the Myanmar people from all different walks of life that I have met during my stay. You have taught and gave me more than I was able to give back.
I wish, hope and I am confident Myanmar will find its path and this beautiful land and its wonderful people will build a better future after many sufferings and devastations.
In the difficult times I have lived in Myanmar, I am proud that the Italian Embassy stayed close to people, not with words and statements, but with concrete actions, keeping our people to people relations alive and further expanding them, in so many different ways, from studying opportunities to cultural events, from solidarity initiatives to business exchanges.
While I will always feel part of the Myanmar community and family, I wish to my successor bright successes for her mandate and I am happy to leave the Embassy in her safe and capable hands!

မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအနေနဲ့ မိမိလျှောက်လှမ်းရမယ့် လမ်းမှန်ကို ရှာဖွေတွေ့ရှိလိမ့်မယ်လို့ ကျွန်ုပ် ဆန္ဒပြု၊ မျှော်လင့်၊ ယုံကြည်နေသလို၊ ဒီလှပတဲ့တိုင်းပြည်နဲ့ အံ့သြဖွယ်ကောင်းတဲ့ ပြည်သူတွေဟာ များပြားလှတဲ့ သောကဒုက္ခတွေနဲ့ ပျက်စီးဆုံးရှုံးမှုတွေကို ကျော်ဖြတ်ပြီး ပိုမိုကောင်းမွန်တဲ့ အနာဂတ်တစ်ခုကို တည်ဆောက်နိုင်ကြလိမ့်မယ်လို့ မျှော်လင့်ပါတယ်။
ကျွန်ုပ် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှာ ဖြတ်သန်းခဲ့ရတဲ့ ခက်ခဲကြမ်းတမ်းတဲ့ အချိန်ကာလတွေမှာ အီတလီသံရုံးအနေနဲ့ ပြည်သူလူထုနဲ့အတူ အနီးကပ်ရှိနေပေးနိုင်ခဲ့တာကို ဂုဏ်ယူမိပါတယ်။ ဒါကို နှုတ်ကတိစကားတွေ၊ ထုတ်ပြန်ချက်တွေနဲ့မဟုတ်ဘဲ ပြည်သူအချင်းချင်းဆက်ဆံရေးကို ခိုင်မာလာအောင်နဲ့ ပိုမိုကျယ်ပြန့်အောင် လက်တွေ့ကျတဲ့ လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်တွေနဲ့ လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့တာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ပညာသင်ဆု အခွင့်အလမ်းတွေကနေ ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဆိုင်ရာ ပွဲလမ်းသဘင်တွေအထိ၊ လူသားချင်းစာနာထောက်ထားမှုဆိုင်ရာ ကူညီမှုတွေကနေ စီးပွားရေးဆိုင်ရာ ဖလှယ်မှုတွေအထိ မတူကွဲပြားလှတဲ့ပုံစံမျိုးစုံနဲ့ ဖော်ဆောင်ခဲ့တာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
ကျွန်ုပ်အနေနဲ့ မြန်မာ့လူ့အဖွဲ့အစည်းနဲ့ မိသားစုကြီးရဲ့ အစိတ်အပိုင်းတစ်ခုအဖြစ် အမြဲတမ်းခံယူနေမှာဖြစ်သလို၊ ကျွန်ုပ်ရဲ့နေရာကို ဆက်ခံမယ့် သံရုံးအကြီးအကဲအသစ်ရဲ့ တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်မှု သက်တမ်းမှာလည်း ထူးခြားပြောင်မြောက်တဲ့ အောင်မြင်မှုတွေ ရရှိပါစေကြောင်း ဆုတောင်းမေတ္တာပို့သအပ်ပါတယ်။ သံရုံးကို သူမရဲ့ စိတ်ချရပြီး အရည်အချင်းရှိတဲ့ လက်ထဲကို လွှဲပြောင်းပေးခဲ့ရတဲ့အတွက်လည်း အလွန်ပဲ ဝမ်းမြောက်မိပါတယ်။

On the occasion of Italian Republic Day, the staff of the Italian Embassy, ​​with the logistical support of the Italian NGO New Humanity, donated and served 2,100 meals to a marginalized community on the outskirts of Yangon.
"We are proud, in what has now become a tradition, to celebrate the National Day and the values ​​of solidarity enshrined in the Italian Constitution with a concrete gesture of support for those in need," emphasized the Head of Mission Nicolò Tassoni Estense. "For me personally, as I am concluding my
mandate, this gesture has the value of making me feel part of the Burmese community that hosts us".

In occasione della Festa della Repubblica, il personale dell’Ambasciata d’Italia, con il sostegno logistico della ONG italiana New Humanity, ha donato e servito 2100 pasti a beneficio di una comunità marginalizzata della periferia di Yangon.
“Siamo fieri, in quella che è diventata oramai una tradizione, di celebrare la Festa Nazionale ed i valori di solidarietà della Costituzione italiana attraverso un gesto concreto di vicinanza a favore di persone bisognose" - sottolinea il Capo Missione Nicolò Tassoni Estense - “Per me personalmente, che sto concludendo il mio
mandato, è un gesto che ha la valenza di farmi sentire parte della comunità birmana che ci ospita".

📣 Scholarships for Myanmar students awarded by the Embassy of Italy in Yangon in partnership with Myanma Awba Group - Call for Applications for the Academic Year 2026-27.
🎓 The Embassy of Italy in Yangon is proud to continue its partnership with Myanma Awba Group in order to support Myanmar students who wish to study in Italy.
🌱 Awba Group will sponsor 4 (four) new scholarship grants for Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree studies in Agriculture, Environment, Sustainability or sustainability-related subjects or Food Security and Food-related sciences at a University in Italy during the Academic Year 2025-2026.
✅ In addition, last year’s AWBA Group scholarship winners will also be awarded a renewal depending on their academic results

The Embassy of Italy has the pleasure to invite history lovers to the soft book-launch of “The Golden Thread between Italy and Myanmar”, on Thursday 28th May at 17.30 at Ohmar Gallery, 20-D Dhamayone st., Hlaing, Yangon.
“The Golden Thread”, written by the Head of Mission Nicolo’ Tassoni Estense, together with F. Piero Masolo and published by Artestampa Modena, retraces the Italian presence in Myanmar in the last seven centuries, offering a broad perspective on the unique relationship established between Italian and Myanmar people across centuries. A true “Golden Thread” that proves that relations between Myanmar and a European Nation have worked to a mutual benefit and enrichment, allowing for cultural, scientific and technological exchange as well as for interreligious dialogue.
