Division of Atomic Energy - အဏုမြူစွမ်းအင်ဌာန In 1955, Atomic Energy division, which is recently known as Division of Atomic Energy, was established.

Division of Atomic Energy is the Regulatory Body to ensure the safety of the radiation sources and the protection from nuclear radiation hazards and the competent authority that carries out research, development and training in the field of atomic energy. We are Founding member of International Atomic Energy Agency in 1957. DAE is Regulatory body and Competent Authority for ensuring the safety of

people and environment form harmful effect of radiation as well as promoting the peaceful use of nuclear technology in Myanmar. Moreover, DAE implementing the country’s obligations and responsibilities in the following International Treaty, Agreement and Convention which Myanmar has signed, partied, membered and accession to.
- State Party to Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)
- Signed Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone Treaty (SEANWFZ)
- Signed Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and a Small Quantities Protocol
- Signed Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT)
- Member to Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA) 1985
- Signed IAEA Additional Protocol
- Ratified Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty
- Accession to the Convention on Physical Protection of Nuclear Materials and its Amendment
- Accession to the Convention on Nuclear Safety
- Member to Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA 2017)
