Software giant is expanding its presence, joining a growing list of global leaders investing in Lithuania’s talent, innovation and business environment. 📈

🙌 Bentley Systems joins a growing list of world-leading companies doubling down on Lithuania.

The global infrastructure engineering software company has opened a new office in Vilnius and plans to grow its Lithuanian team by nearly a third over the next three years, actively recruiting across UX design, product management, and software engineering.

Bentley Systems has operated in Lithuania for over two decades. Its engineering teams in Vilnius and Kaunas have been instrumental in developing some of Bentley’s key solutions for project delivery, construction modelling, and digital twins.

Their latest Lithuanian expansion positions the country as a central hub for Bentley’s European digital innovation strategy.

“By scaling our presence in Vilnius, we are tapping into a concentrated market of AI and software development expertise necessary to meet the global demand for intelligent infrastructure solutions,” says Julien Moutte, Chief Technology Officer at Bentley Systems.

According to a new Datapulse study, Lithuania ranks #1 in Europe for returning citizens. For six consecutive years, return migration has exceeded emigration - a clear sign of confidence in Lithuania’s future, resilience & opportunities. 📈

Nauja „Datapulse“ Europos migracijos analizė rodo, kad Lietuva – pirmoje vietoje pagal sugrįžtančių tautiečių skaičių tarp ES šalių.

📊Analizės duomenimis, Lietuva ir Bulgarija yra vienintelės ES valstybės, kuriose 2024 m. buvo fiksuojamos teigiamos migracijos tendencijos.

Šią kryptį patvirtina ir naujausi Valstybės duomenų agentūros duomenys: 2025 m. grįžtančiųjų buvo apie 94% daugiau nei išvykstančiųjų. Tai jau šešti metai iš eilės, kai į Lietuvą grįžta daugiau piliečių nei išvyksta.

🇱🇹 On 14 June 1941, soviet occupiers carried out the first mass deportation of Lithuania’s population. Around 17 000 people were placed into 17 train convoys and deported from Lithuania. Many never reached their places of exile, dying on the way in cattle wagons.

At railway stations, men were separated from their families and sent to labour camps in the Komi ASSR, the Arkhangelsk, Gorky, Molotov, Sverdlovsk and Vologda regions, Kazakhstan and Krasnoyarsk Krai. More than 5 000 children under the age of 16 were also among those deported.

The deportees endured harsh climatic conditions, hunger and exhausting forced labour. Many children, elderly people and those in poor health died during the very first winter in exile.

Yet the soviet occupiers failed in their ultimate goal: Lithuanian identity endured and the nation’s spirit remained unbroken.

russia has never accepted responsibility for these soviet crimes and for the fifth year, continues its brutal war of aggression against Ukraine 🇺🇦 and its people.

russia must be held accountable for its crimes against humanity.

The third edition of the MICHELIN Guide Lithuania has been unveiled, marking another strong year for the country’s gastronomic scene.

This year, 5 restaurants were awarded One MICHELIN Star, while 44 restaurants were recommended across Lithuania – 7 more than last year.

A recognition of the talent, creativity and growing international visibility of Lithuania’s chefs and restaurants. 🇱🇹
