Институт „Конфуциј“ Скопје/Confucius Institute Skopje Ајде да учиме кинески!

Институтот Конфуциј при Универзитетот Св. Кирил и Методиј во Скопје е непрофитна образовна институција, чија цел е да ги промовира кинескиот јазик и култура и да посредува во изучувањето на кинескиот јазик и култура, да ја воспостави и поддржи наставата на кинески јазик во образовните институции во Македонија, и да ја помогне културната размена меѓу Македонија и Кина.
Институтот Конфуциј при Уни

верзитетот Св. Кирил и Методиј во Скопје е формиран во партнерство со Југозападниот универзитет за финансии и економија, од Ченгду, провинција Сечуан. Го води тим од двајца декани избрани од двата универзитета.
Централата на Институтите Конфуциј е во Пекинг, а програмите се под надзор на Канцеларијата на Меѓународниот Совет за кинески јазик (Ханбан), непрофитна организација поврзана со Министерството за образование на Народна Репбулика Кина. Првиот Институт Конфуциј е основан во 2004 г. во Сеул, Јужна Кореја.
Институтот Конфуциј при Универзитетот Св. Кирил и Методиј ќе организира настава на кинески јазик, ќе одржува обука на наставници по кинески јазик, ќе одржува HSK (Тест за одредување на нивото на познавање на кинески јазик) и тестови за сертифицирање на наставници по кинески јазик, ќе обезбедува информации и консултативни услуги за образованието, културата, и други области што се однесуваат на Кина.
Наставата ќе ја изведуваат предавачи од Кина.
Најдобрите посетители на курсевите по кинески јазик на Институтот Конфуциј во јули 2014 година ќе добијат можност за двонеделен студиски престој во Кина преку кинескиот партнер Југозападниот Универзитет за Финансии и Економија од Ченгду. Престојот ќе биде фокусиран на продлабочување на знаењето на кинескиот јазик и запознавање со кинеската култура преку разни активности и дружење со кинески студенти.

Просториите на Институтот Конфуциј се наоѓаат во Националната и универзитетска библиотека Св.Климент Охридски во Скопје, со адреса бул. Гоце Делчев бр.6.

Confucius Institute at UKIM Attends Saints Cyril and Methodius Day Commemoration

On May 22, the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje attended the ceremony marking the 77th anniversary of the University and the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the saints after whom the University is named.

The ceremony was attended by a university delegation led by Rector Prof. Dr. Biljana Angelova, along with representatives of faculties, institutes, university organizations, state institutions, and students.
Representing the Confucius Institute, Co-Directors Prof. Vlatko Stoilkov and Prof. Liao Wei led the Institute’s teachers in laying flowers at the monument of Saints Cyril and Methodius on the University’s social sciences campus.

Through its participation, the Confucius Institute expressed its respect for UKIM’s academic tradition and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Chinese language education, intercultural dialogue, and educational cooperation between China and North Macedonia.

Confucius Institute Signs MOU with the Municipality of Kumanovo

On Friday, May 22, Prof. Vlatko Stoilkov and Prof. Liao Wei, Co-Directors of the Confucius Institute at UKIM, visited the Municipality of Kumanovo and met with Mayor Mr. Maksim Dimitrievski.

During the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote Chinese language education and cultural exchange. Under the agreement, the Confucius Institute will offer Chinese language courses in primary and secondary schools in Kumanovo.

This marks an important milestone for the Confucius Institute and opens a new chapter of cooperation with the Municipality of Kumanovo. We look forward to working together to promote Chinese language learning, cultural understanding, and friendship between China and North Macedonia.

Chinese Culture Comes Alive at Korchagin High School Open Day

On May 16, the Confucius Institute at UKIM joined the Open Day at Rade Jovchevski-Korchagin High School in Skopje, bringing Chinese language and culture to students, parents, and teachers through hands-on activities.
Participants enjoyed interactive workshops on taiji, Chinese paper-cutting, and calligraphy. Many students and parents joined with great interest, experiencing the beauty and creativity of traditional Chinese culture.
The event offered a wonderful opportunity for the local community to learn more about China and helped strengthen cultural exchange and friendship through direct participation and shared experience.

First HSK and HSKK Tests of 2026 Successfully Held

On May 16, the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University successfully held its first HSK Chinese Proficiency Tests and HSKK Chinese Speaking Tests of 2026.

HSK, or the Chinese Proficiency Test, is an internationally recognized standardized test designed to assess the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers. HSKK, or the Chinese Speaking Test, focuses specifically on candidates’ oral Chinese communication skills.

A total of 40 local Chinese language learners took part in the examinations. The tests were conducted smoothly and in good order, with all candidates completing the exam with focus and confidence.

As an official Chinese language examination center in North Macedonia, the Confucius Institute continues to provide local learners with a standardized platform to assess their Chinese proficiency and support their future academic study, career development, and cross-cultural exchange.

We wish all candidates excellent results and continued success in their Chinese learning journey!

North Macedonia Final of the 2026 “Chinese Bridge” Competition Held in Skopje

On May 9, 2026, the North Macedonia Final of the 2026 “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition was successfully held in Skopje. Organized by the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM), the event brought together 26 contestants from three categories: the University and Adult Group, the High School Students Group, and the Primary School Students Group.

The competition officially began at 9:00 a.m. with welcome remarks by Prof. Vlatko Stoilkov and Prof. Liao Wei, the Macedonian and Chinese Directors of the Confucius Institute. Contestants competed in three sections: self-introduction, language proficiency test, and Chinese cultural talent performance. They demonstrated their Chinese language skills, cultural understanding, creativity, and confidence on stage.

The five-member judging panel consisted of Dr. Mariya Marinova from Sofia University, Bulgaria; Dr. Igor Radev and Dr. Sara Cvetanovska, sinologists from North Macedonia; Ms. Tang Bingbing, representative of Sinohydro, a Chinese enterprise; and Ms. Zhang Wenjun, representative of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in North Macedonia.

After several hours of competition, the winners were announced. In the University and Adult Group, the first prize went to Zhanina Bogevska, the second prize to Kiro Mavroski, and the third prize to Sara Aleksikj. In the High School Students Group, the first prize went to Jana Aleksova, the second prize to Iva Eftimoska, and the third prize to Andrea Paskalova. In the Primary School Students Group, the first prize went to Ilina Siljanovska, the second prize to Bisera Kambovska, and the third prize to Anastasija Matkarimova Pejoska.

The award ceremony was held at 2:00 p.m. Distinguished guests included H.E. Jiang Xiaoyan, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to North Macedonia; Prof. Sonja Topuzovska, Vice-Rector of UKIM; Mr. Robert Adzipetrov, Director of the Bureau for Textbooks at the Ministry of Education and Science of North Macedonia; Prof. Vladimir Martinovski, Dean of the Faculty of Philology; Mr. Milko Zivkovic, Editor-in-Chief of Nova Makedonija; representatives of the Chinese Embassy; the Chinese and Macedonian Directors of the Confucius Institute; judges, teachers, contestants, parents, students, as well as other friends and supporters of the Confucius Institute.

In their remarks, Prof. Liao Wei and Prof. Vlatko Stoilkov congratulated all contestants and thanked the judges, guests, teachers, parents, and partner institutions for their support. They noted that the “Chinese Bridge” competition is not only a language contest, but also an important platform for young people in North Macedonia to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture.
Prof. Sonja Topuzovska, speaking on behalf of the Rector of UKIM, Prof. Biljana Angelova, emphasized the university’s long-standing support for the Confucius Institute and its cooperation with Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. She noted that learning foreign languages is an investment in the future, and described the “Chinese Bridge” competition as a meaningful symbol of cultural connection, mutual understanding, and friendship.

Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan warmly congratulated the contestants and praised the Confucius Institute at UKIM for its excellent organization of the event. She emphasized that the Chinese language carries the wisdom of Chinese civilization and serves as a bridge for understanding China, promoting cultural dialogue, and strengthening friendship between China and North Macedonia. She encouraged the contestants to continue learning Chinese and become future ambassadors of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The ceremony also featured cultural performances by teachers and students of the Confucius Institute, including Chinese songs, dance, taijiquan, and group performances. The successful event once again demonstrated the growing enthusiasm for Chinese language learning in North Macedonia and the important role of the Confucius Institute in promoting educational and cultural exchanges between China and North Macedonia.

📣 Join us this Saturday for the 2026 “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Language Competition in North Macedonia!

Organized by the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, this exciting event will bring together young Chinese language learners from across North Macedonia to showcase their language skills, cultural knowledge, and talents.

🏮 Contestants from primary schools, secondary schools, universities, and adult groups will participate in:

🎉 Celebrating UN Chinese Language Day, a vibrant Chinese language and culture event was held on April 20 at Elementary School “Vanco Prke” in Štip, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in North Macedonia, with the Confucius Institute at UKIM providing organizational support.

Principal Kokan Radev warmly welcomed the event, and H.E. Jiang Xiaoyan, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to North Macedonia, highlighted the importance of promoting Chinese language education and strengthening cultural exchange.

The atmosphere throughout the event was lively and full of enthusiasm. During the mini Chinese class, students were highly proactive—eagerly raising their hands, actively engaging in activities, and confidently trying out new Chinese words. The classroom was filled with energy, laughter, and interaction.

The calligraphy and paper-cutting sessions also sparked great excitement and active participation. Students gathered around with curiosity, asked questions, and eagerly took part. With focus and creativity, they tried the techniques themselves and proudly created their own works.
