Nihaona tamin’ireo mpiara-miombon’antoka miasa amin’ny fampisitrahana rano fisotro madio, ny fampandrosoana ny fiarahamonina ary ny fiarovana ny ala tao Ranomafana ihany koa izy.

In his first field visit outside Antananarivo, Deputy Ambassador Simeon Onaji visited several cities and communes along the RN7, including Ambositra, Itremo, Fianarantsoa and Ranomafana.
The visit was an opportunity to see how UK-supported programmes are working with Malagasy partners and local communities to protect ’s unique biodiversity while supporting livelihoods, access to clean water and more sustainable land management.
In Itremo, the Deputy Ambassador visited activities supported through Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, including community savings groups, local conservation patrols, landscape restoration and fire-management work.
In Ranomafana, he met partners working to connect clean drinking water, community development and forest protection.
The visit highlighted the importance of supporting conservation that works for both people and nature, especially in communities living close to ’s protected areas.
