Montenegro has earned its position as the frontrunner of the EU enlargement process through commitment, tangible reform results and a clear European orientation. 🇲🇪🇪🇺
At the invitation of Marjan Šarec, the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Montenegro, I will take part in an event at the European Parliament in Brussels dedicated to the final stage of the accession process, the roadmap towards membership, and Montenegro’s next steps towards full membership in the European Union.
It will also be an opportunity to discuss with MEPs the political and reform completion of our European path and Montenegro’s membership prospects.
Our progress is, above all, the result of the work of Montenegro’s institutions, the political determination to keep the European agenda among the country’s highest priorities, and the broad societal consensus on Montenegro’s place in the European Union.
Montenegro’s membership will be recognition of the results we have achieved, but also confirmation that progress based on reforms leads to a clear and concrete political outcome.
Montenegro’s ambition is not to remain the most advanced candidate, but to become a Member State of the European Union by 2028. 🇲🇪🇪🇺
