REFLECTIONS ON THE CYBERSECURITY WORKSHOP - MONTENEGRO
🛡️ The Cybersecurity Workshop in Bratislava brought together cybersecurity and energy sector stakeholders from from the Western Balkans and Moldova to exchange experiences on strengthening cyber resilience and turning policy into practice.
When it comes to lessons worth taking home, Jelena Raičević from the Agencija za sajber bezbjednost Crne Gore highlighted the following:
💬 “I found the presentation of the Slovak National Security Authority particularly interesting. While there are differences in the implementation of cybersecurity legislation between our countries, one especially valuable practice is the mandatory self-identification of essential and important entities with the NSA, including those in the energy sector, based on the number of employees and annual turnover. This approach places the responsibility for cybersecurity on the entities themselves, meaning they are also expected to recognize and fulfill their obligation to register with the NSA.
Another excellent example from 🇸🇰 is the JISKB platform, which is a centralized system and supports incident reporting, information exchange and the registration of entities under the national cybersecurity framework.”
ℹ️ The cybersecurity in the energy sector ⚡ workshop was organized under a project supported by the Slovak Ministry of Finance and implemented by UNDP.
💬 “Overall, the workshop was a great success, especially because it encouraged the exchange of knowledge and experiences among Western Balkan countries. It gave us the opportunity to assess current stage of cybersecurity development of WB countries and to learn about good practices from EU member states such as Slovakia, which already have mature systems and well-established operational Agency," she noted.
