Welcome to the Official page of the Upper Cumberland EMS Directors Association! 🚑

We’re excited to officially launch our new page and create another way to stay connected with EMS professionals, agencies, partners, and the communities we serve throughout Tennessee’s Upper Cumberland region.

The Upper Cumberland EMS Directors Association brings together EMS leadership from across the region with a shared commitment to collaboration, education, preparedness, and strengthening emergency medical services throughout the Upper Cumberland.

Here, we’ll share association updates, training and educational opportunities, regional events, important EMS information, recognition of our providers and agencies, and more.

A big thank you to Nana’s Childcare for having us out for Community Helpers Day!

We had a great time visiting with the kids, answering their questions, and sharing a little about what we do to help keep our community safe. It’s always special to see their excitement as they learn about local first responders.

🚑 September Monthly InService: Airway Management 🫁

This month’s training focused on airway management! One of the most critical skills in prehospital care.

Our crews spent time reviewing and practicing airway techniques, equipment, and hands on skills to help keep us prepared for those moments when seconds matter.

Continuous training keeps our skills sharp, builds confidence, and ensures we’re ready when our community needs us most.

We’re proud to serve the people of Clay County, and we’ll continue putting in the work behind the scenes so that when you call us on your worst day, we’re prepared to give you our very best. ❤️🚑

Clay County EMS completed the Prehospital Neonatal Resuscitation Program today.

This specialized training provides EMS professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, manage, and respond to neonatal emergencies in the prehospital environment. Personnel received focused instruction and hands-on training in the assessment, stabilization, and resuscitation of newborn patients.

While neonatal emergencies are relatively uncommon, they are among the most time-sensitive situations encountered by emergency medical services. Maintaining proficiency through specialized education and realistic skills training is essential to ensuring our providers are prepared when these critical situations occur.

Clay County EMS remains committed to advancing the capabilities of our service through continued education, evidence-based training, and investment in our personnel.

We are proud of our providers for their continued dedication to professional development and to providing high-quality emergency medical care to the citizens and visitors of Clay County.

Becoming a paramedic takes countless hours of studying, clinicals, ride time, skills practice, and sacrifice. Haley has worked hard to reach this milestone, and we are extremely proud of her dedication and commitment to advancing her career in EMS.

As another EMS week comes to an end, I would like to take a moment as the Director of Clay County EMS, to personally thank every one of my co-workers. Our small service takes on the big job of providing the Citizens of Clay County with the best medical service possible. We have done some growing in the last couple of years and had the growing pains along with this endeavor. Even through all the stresses and long work weeks, I have never been let down by my guys. If one slacks another is there to help pick up the slack and makes my job as Director less stressful. To each and everyone of yall im proud to call you coworkers and friend. You are the reasons I consider Clay County's EMS one of the best places to work. I could not do it without you guys. And Kyle this was not Chat GPT written.
