🗞️ On the International day to End Impunity for Crimes against journalists, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to protecting journalists and media workers, the champions of truth and accountability.

✍️ Journalists and media workers are essential for informing the public about things that matter. They often face threats and violence when doing so. Particularly women face harassment, both online and offline. In the worst cases, journalists are killed - for uncovering important stories.

✊ Journalism is not a crime, attacking journalists for simply doing their job is.

Her Majesty Queen Máxima has inaugurated today the MODA exhibition. MODA showcases the artistic work and personal stories of designers and artists. It highlights the versatility of contemporary designers from Morocco and the Moroccan diaspora in the Netherlands, as well as the influence of Moroccan culture on global fashion. 🇲🇦🇳🇱 Congratulations to Centraal Museum and DAR for this beautiful project and we are very proud to have funded this project as part of the Cultural Open Call 2023.

Koningin Máxima heeft vandaag de tentoonstelling MODA geopend. MODA toont het artistieke werk en de persoonlijke verhalen van ontwerpers en kunstenaars. Het benadrukt de veelzijdigheid van hedendaagse ontwerpers uit Marokko en de Marokkaanse diaspora in Nederland, evenals de invloed van de Marokkaanse cultuur op de mondiale mode. Gefeliciteerd aan Centraal Museum en DAR met dit prachtige project. We zijn erg trots dat we hebben bijgedragen aan dit project hebben via de Cultural Open Call 2023.

🇳🇱🤝🇲🇦 Ahead of the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup, the Netherlands Futsal team visited Morocco for practice matches and engaged with beneficiaries of the KNVB WorldCoaches program, in collaboration with Tibu Africa. This initiative supports grassroots football by providing coach training and creating valuable opportunities for youth through sports for development, with a special emphasis on female participation. Best of luck to the team as they embark on their World Cup journey starting September 14! ⚽️

💧Join us in celebrating World Water Week 2024!

From August 25th to 29th, this year's World Water Week focuses on water cooperation for global peace and security. This week presents a crucial opportunity for the Government of the Netherlands to address pressing water issues, showcase innovative solutions, learn from international peers, and advance the 800 commitments made at the United Nations Water Conference in March 2023.

End of July, His Majesty King Mohammed VI addressed the 25th anniversary of his accession to the throne, underscoring the critical issue of water scarcity in Morocco, intensified by droughts, climate change, and increasing water demand. In response, Morocco and the Netherlands are enhancing their collaboration in water management through various initiatives. The Netherlands, a pioneer in this field, is renowned for its cutting-edge solutions in water control, flood protection, and sustainable water use.

🤝 Strengthening Dutch-Moroccan
Cooperation:

On March 24, 2023, Dutch and Moroccan water ministers signed a memorandum to enhance cooperation in water supply, efficient use, flood protection, governance, and digitization. This partnership includes technical assistance, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the launch of pilot projects.

💧 Organizing the Dutch Moroccan Water
Days:

Last October, Minister Liesje Schreinemacher, alongside Minister Nizar Baraka and Mayor Aboutaleb, inaugurated the Dutch Moroccan Water Days in Casablanca. This event, attended by over 30 Dutch companies and 50 delegates, marked a significant step in fostering future water-related collaborations.

🌍 Enhancing Water Security Globally:

The Netherlands continues to support water security through international programs like the Netherlands International Water Ambition
), a joint effort of various Dutch ministries and the broader water sector.

💼 Water management training:

A Shiraka Training Program (STP) on Water Management, will be held in the coming months 2024, in the Netherlands, for the benefit of public sector representatives in water management from MENA region countries, including Morocco.
