Democrats Abroad Luxembourg is the local Country Committee of Democrats Abroad, which represents Americans living abroad in the U.S. Mission
DEMOCRATS ABROAD (also known as the DPCA) keeps Americans abroad informed of their rights and helps them participate in the U.S. It is recognized as a "state" delegation by, and has eight voting members on, the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and sends d
elegates to the quadrennial Democratic National Convention. DEMOCRATS ABROAD LUXEMBOURG (or more simply, DAL) carries out the DPCA's mission. We endeavor to inform U.S. citizens of issues and legislation that have a direct impact on them (including, for example, taxation, immigration of partners and families, bi-nationality, voting rights, etc) and of U.S. Most importantly, we help Americans REGISTER TO VOTE and to request their absentee ballots for both federal and state elections, in order to elect more Democrats in Congress and the Senate in 2014**
MEMEBERSHIP is DAL is restricted to Americans by U.S. Federal law, and you can JOIN at https://www.democratsabroad.org/user/register. We also organize various EVENTS--lectures by notable guests, debates, rallies, lively discussions in pubs--to help keep our community informed and connected. Plusieurs de nos evenements sont a libre entree et nous invitons chaleureusement NOS AMIS LUXEMBOURGISH d'y en participer et de rester en contacte avec nous. The operations of DAL are assured by an elected Executive Committee, comprising a Chair, Vice-Chair, a Secretary, a Treasurer, a Legal Counsel, and two Members-at-Large. The EXCOM is elected every two years during the Annual General Assembly. The Chairs of local chapters and of the caucuses are also voting members of the Executive Committee. On our FACEBOOK page, we post information about activities within or of interest to the DAL community . We also post journal articles and video clips about current politics and political figures as well as official communiques from the Democratic Party. We try to keep it interesting, informative, fun, and not overwhelm your newsfeed. Any questions, comments, or queries, including media requests can be addressed to DAL via Facebook, or by visiting the official website of DAL at www.democratsabroad.org/group/Luxembourg, where additional information about jointing the organization, registering to vote, or participating in the caucus or policy study groups can also be found.
