It's best to be prepared! In the case of an emergency the Embassy strongly advises all Irish citizens to:
- Ensure emergency alert messages are enabled on your phone to receive alert messages from the Lithuanian Government
- Follow the instructions of Lithuanian authorities through LT72.lt (official crisis preparedness website) and through LRT.lt (local media).
- Download the LT72 app for English language updates and information on emergency preparedness
After hearing sirens and/or receiving an “Air alert” notification (“ORO PAVOJUS”), you should immediately make your way to the nearest shelter marked with a special yellow “Priedanga” sign. If this is not possible, try to access a basement or an underground car park, or an interior room without windows where you will be shielded from flying debris. Remain there until you get an update the danger has passed. To find the nearest shelter, use the map:

Irish citizens in Lithuania - both resident and visiting - are encouraged to register their presence with the Embassy, via https://citizensregistration.dfa.ie/
General Emergency: Call 112 (Police, Fire and Rescue, Ambulance).
Irish citizens travelling or living overseas are encouraged to register their contact details with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
