On Monday 6th of December 2021 a Team of three (3) persons, left the country to participate in a Regional Workshop of Trainers of Trainers/Experts in ICT and Digital in TVET, the workshop is the Regional face-to-face training workshop for practitioners Skills to be trainers of trainers. The Team comprised of Mr. Z**i E. Cyrus, Ms. Faiquen Gweh and Mr. W. Praise Bloyuefloh. The Team's members were the successful learners from the first component; an online course was develop to reach practitioners. A first cohort of 118 leaders from seven African countries (4 French-speaking and 3 English-speaking) was trained with a success rate of about 53%.
The Training Workshop is organize by UNESCO and is been held in Dakar, Senegal from December 7-9, 2021. The Training's THEME is "Pan-African Initiative for the Digital Transformation of TVET and Skills Development Systems in Africa. The participating countries are Liberia, Senegal, Gambia, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Mali.

The objectives of the Training are:
1. Equip participants with the skills to be practitioners so that they can facilitate the training of leaders in their respective countries
2. To equip participants with the skills to be part of the technical team to carry out the technical support phase of the initiative in their countries
3. Collect input and feedback from participants to improve the technical content of the training modules
4. Ensure buy-in and sharing of the vision and objectives of the initiative with participants

Pres. Weah Conveys Condolences to Family, Friends of Late Asst. Minister Sunday

(July 6, 2020 – Monrovia, Liberia): The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah has expressed deep sadness over the news of the death of John Narrold Sunday, Assistant Minister and Special Assistant to the Minister of Youth and Sports, D. Zoegar Wilson. Sports, but to all Liberians.

The Liberian Leader noted with consternation the toll that COVID 19 continues to take on the country and its people while expressing his sympathies to all who have lost loved ones or continue to reel from the effects of the disease.

He once again urges the general public to adhere to the health protocols in order to keep their families safe.

MYS releases calendar of events of 2019 National Youth Day Celebration.

Monrovia, Liberia, October 25, 2019: The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS), in collaboration with youth organizations and the student community of Liberia will Saturday, October 26, begin activities marking celebration of the 50th National Youth Day and the 9th National Youth Conference.

Under the theme: “The Role of the Youth in Maintaining Peace and Democracy Through the Rule of Law”, Deputy Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Hon. Samora P. Z. Wolokollie Will serve as keynote speaker.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, D. Zeogar Wilson, outlining the activities, said the events will commence with a cleanup campaign in Monrovia and its environs, involving 500 youth.

According to the Minister, the activities will continue on Sunday, October 27th, with a fascinating football match at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex between Legends of the National Football Team, the Lone Star, and a select squad of the Youth and Student community.
Minister Wilson said President George Manneh Weah will feature for both teams in each half of the game.

Day three, which falls on Monday, the 28th. will witness an array of government officials, various personalities and outstanding organizations making presentations on volunteerism, freedom of speech, the rights and responsibilities of a good young citizen, maintaining Liberia’s peace, and youth civil duties.
The final and official celebration, which takes place on Tuesday, October 29, at the Paynesville City Hall, will witness the launch of the revised National Youth Policy and Action Plan, and also bring together several dignitaries to address the young people on issues of national concern, with President Weah gracing the occasion and making the official proclamation of the day.

The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY), Liberia National Student Union (LINSU), Mano River Union Youth Parliament (MRUYP) Liberian Chapter will play prominent roles during the activities.
