Senator Cyrus Appalled by Death of Veteran Liberian Journalist and Visionary CEO of Lofa Eye, Joseph Nyandibo

MONROVIA, LIBERIA: Senator Momo Tarnuekollie Cyrus of Lofa County has expressed profound shock and sadness over the passing of Mr. Joseph Nyandibo, veteran Liberian journalist, visionary media entrepreneur, and founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Lofa Eye Newspaper. Senator Cyrus extends heartfelt condolences to Mr. Nyandibo’s bereaved family, loved ones, colleagues, the entire Lofa Eye family, the Liberian media community, and the people of Lofa County.

Senator Cyrus described Mr. Nyandibo as a committed journalist whose work contributed meaningfully to journalism, public information, and community reporting in Liberia. Through the Lofa Eye Newspaper, Mr. Nyandibo helped document important developments in Lofa County and across Liberia, providing a platform through which citizens, institutions, and communities could remain informed. The publication also consistently covered activities and developments involving the Office of Senator Momo Tarnuekollie Cyrus.

“Joseph Nyandibo’s passing is a painful loss to Lofa County and to Liberia’s media landscape. He devoted himself to telling stories, documenting events, and keeping the public informed. While his voice has been silenced by death, the journalistic contribution he made and the records he helped create will continue to speak to generations,” Senator Cyrus said.

Senator Cyrus further noted that Mr. Nyandibo’s departure leaves a significant void in community journalism and public information. He prayed for the peaceful repose of Mr. Nyandibo’s soul and asked God to grant his family, colleagues, friends, and all those mourning his passing the strength, comfort, and fortitude to endure this difficult period.

Today, I celebrate two of God’s greatest blessings in my life: another year of life and twenty wonderful years of marriage to my beloved wife, Dr. Elvira Cyrus. 🎂👰🎉💕

As I mark my birthday, my heart is filled with gratitude to Almighty God for His unfailing grace, protection, and countless blessings. I am equally grateful to my family, friends, colleagues, and the good people of Lofa County and Liberia for your unwavering love, prayers, trust, and support throughout this journey of service.

Celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary makes this day even more special. To my dear wife, Dr. Elvira Cyrus, thank you for twenty years of love, friendship, sacrifice, strength, and steadfast partnership. You have been my greatest blessing and a constant source of encouragement through every season of life. I thank God for the beautiful family we have built together and pray that He continues to strengthen our bond and bless us with many more joyful years.

As I begin another chapter, I renew my commitment to serving with humility, integrity, and dedication. I ask for your continued prayers as we work together for a stronger, more united, and more prosperous Liberia.

WHEN OTHERS STEP BACK, YOU STEP FORWARD: SENATOR CYRUS CHARGES NEW FIRE SERVICE OFFICERS TO SERVE WITH COURAGE AND INTEGRITY

Today, . Momo Tarnuekollie Cyrus, Senator of Lofa County and Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Defense, Intelligence, Security and Veteran Affairs, had the distinct honor of serving as Keynote Speaker at the Graduation Ceremony of the Liberia National Fire Service Basic In-Service Training Program (Class I), held at the Liberia National Police Academy in Paynesville.

Addressing the seventy nine graduating officers of the Liberia National Fire Service and forty six other personnel from the Liberia Petroleum Refinery Company, Senator Cyrus reminded them that firefighting is not simply a career but a sacred calling rooted in service, courage, discipline, and compassion.

“Every emergency is someone’s worst day, and every firefighter has the opportunity to become the reason someone lives to see tomorrow.”

He encouraged the graduates to see themselves not only as responders to disasters, but as protectors of human dignity, guardians of public trust, and symbols of hope in moments of crisis.

Drawing lessons from leading emergency service institutions around the world, Senator Cyrus emphasized that a professional fire service is an investment in national development and resilience. He challenged the graduates to uphold the highest standards of integrity, reject corruption, embrace continuous learning, and always place the safety and well-being of the Liberian people above personal interest.

In one of the defining moments of his address, he urged the new officers:

“When others step back, step forward. When others panic, bring calm. When others lose hope, become hope.”

The Senator also paid tribute to the instructors who shaped the graduates, the families whose sacrifices make public service possible, and the women joining the ranks of the Liberia National Fire Service, affirming that leadership, courage, and excellence know no gender.

Congratulations to the eighty officers of Basic In-Service Training Program Class I. As you begin this noble journey, may you wear your uniforms with honor, carry your responsibilities with humility, protect every life with compassion, and serve Liberia with unwavering integrity.
