🇱🇷 HAPPY NATIONAL FLAG DAY, LIBERIA! 🇱🇷

Today, we proudly join our fellow Liberians at home and around the world to celebrate our National Flag Day, a day dedicated to honoring the beautiful flag that represents our nation, our identity, and our shared destiny.

The Liberian flag is more than just a national symbol. It carries the story of our people—the sacrifices of those who came before us, the struggles we have overcome, and the hope we continue to hold for a better Liberia.

As the flag flies proudly today, may it remind us that Liberia belongs to all of us. Regardless of where we come from, our political differences, or the challenges we face, we remain one people under one flag.

To the hardworking and resilient people of B**g County District #7, let us continue to stand together in peace, unity, and love for country. Let us teach our children to respect our national symbols and to understand the responsibility that comes with being Liberian.

May the red, white, and blue continue to inspire us to serve our communities, protect our peace, and contribute to the progress of our beloved country.

Representative Foday E. K. Fahnbulleh mandating the Management of China union (Bangli) to ensure the only train that is used to transport employees or workers of the company in a better, conducive and comfortable condition for the workers!

I can’t be a lawmaker of this district where the company is situated and allow my people to be treated in this manner!!!

“B**g County District #7 Representative Foday E. K. Fahnbulleh continues to seek the welfare of workers at China union; invites officials of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporations to resolve employees social security benefits and other concerns”.

Workers of the China union ( Bangli) concession company have hailed Representatives Foday E. K Fahnbulleh for his swift interventions in addressing issues affecting the welfare of workers of China union in his district.

During Representative Fahnbulleh’s monthly routine visit to the company over the weekend ( August 8,2026), the workers through its President Sam Kpehe had earlier raised concerns over their social security benefits, pay slips and transport conditions among others.

The workers’ concerns prompted the Youthful B**g County Lawmaker’s intervention aim at resolving the matter by inviting the National Social Security and Welfare Corporations to establish circumstances surrounding claims from workers of China union (Bangli) and its sub contracting company called ( CHRESS).

During the meeting with the Management of China union, the workers, CHRESS and the National Social Security and Welfare Corporations , Amos Holder, the HR for CHRESS, a sub contracting firm , admitted that they are yet to address the social security status for workers of the company after being asked by Representative Fahnbulleh based on concerns from the workers of China union.

Holder noted that there has been delay due to some busy schedules from his Bosses; something he said is beyond his control despite numerous concerns from the employees and pressure from Representative Fahnbulleh to ensure the workers plights are addressed.

Speaking in an angry mood in response to CHRESS , HR, Amos Holder, the B**g County Lawmaker termed the company as a joker to the employees of China union thus urging both China Union (Bangli) and CHRESS to cooperate with NASSCORP to address the concerns of the workers as soon as possible to avoid further actions.

Speaking on behalf of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporations, Cllr. Michael Cyril Itoka - Head of National Social Security & Welfare Corporation Liberia said, the entity has not received employees money from China union through the HR hiring firm, CHRESS since 2024 contrary to reports that the workers have ID cards and the amount deducted are being remitted to NASSCORP.

According to ITOKA, they have little over three hundred employees listing from CHRESS contrary to reports that they have received over four hundred listing.

The NASSCORP Executive further stated that, the entity do not charge an employee of a company for an initial NASSCORP ID card except for a loss card.

He used the medium to encourage the company and workers to comply with NASSCORP policies if the numerous concerns must be addressed.

At the same time, following the conclusion of the meeting, Representative Fahnbulleh took an inspection tour on the only train that is used to transport workers due to complaints that the train is in a deplorable condition.

Based on the inspection by Representative Fahnbulleh and his observation, the deplorable condition of the train established the claim by the workers thus prompting the Lawmaker to immediately mandate the company to ensure the train is in a better condition for the workers to avoid further action against the company.

UPDATE!

WATCH THE HIGHLIGHTS from the official groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of the Nancy B. Doe Public School in B**g Mines.

August 10, 2026

For many years, the Nancy B. Doe Public School has played an important role in educating the children of B**g Mines and surrounding communities. Many citizens who passed through the school still carry good memories, valuable lessons, and experiences from their time there.

However, for many years, the school faced a serious challenge due to the lack of a permanent structure, making it difficult for both students and teachers.

Today, that story is changing.

Through his advocacy and work in the National Legislature, Hon. Foday E. Fahnbulleh ensured that the reconstruction of the Nancy B. Doe Public School was included in the 2026 National Budget.

The groundbreaking ceremony marks a major step toward providing our children with a better, safer, and more conducive learning environment.

This is not just about building a school. It is about restoring an important part of B**g Mines’ educational history and investing in the future of our children.

From advocacy to action.
From vision to reality.
The work continues.
The people remain the priority.
