Beneath the open skies, they move as one — wise, gentle, and enduring.

Scientific Name: Himantopus himantopus

Family: Recurvirostridae

Grace on stilts – the Black-winged Stilt wades elegantly through serene waters, its delicate frame and striking plumage painting poetry in motion.

The Black-winged Stilt is a graceful and slender wader known for its exceptionally long pink legs, which give it a stilted appearance. Its body is mostly white with contrasting black wings and back, while the bill is long, thin, and perfectly straight – ideal for probing mudflats and shallow waters for aquatic insects, crustaceans, and other small invertebrates.
