Dr.Surantha Salgadoe/ Head and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening at Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management (FAPM) at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka (WUSL) marked a significant milestone invited by the Faculty of Agriculture, Parul University of India to deliver the Lead Keynote speech at their “International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Safety” (ICSAFS 2026). Dr.Surantha shared his lead work from Sri Lanka and Globally towards “Reshaping Agriculture in Changing Climate” and also learned the ongoing work in the region with the delegates present. A special thanks to Prof.K.G.Patel/Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Parul University in strengthening the mutual academic and scientific networking internationally with Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.

It is a proud moment to cherish the remarkable national-level achievement of our Alumna Ms. Buddhi Kularathna/Director of Ceylbee International (Pvt) Ltd., and her team winning three Awards: 1) Most Outstanding Export-Oriented Woman Entrepreneur 2025 – Product (National Level), 2) Gold - National Award (Medium Category), 3) Provincial Award - Uva Province, at the “Prathibhabhisheka” Women Entrepreneur Awards 2025, organized by Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC). Ms. Buddhi Kularathna is a Proud Alumna of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening, Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management (FAPM), Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. We are truly delighted by the excellent career achievement of our alumna, Ms. Buddhi, and wish her all the best.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐃𝐫.𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐣𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫 in recognition of his outstanding contribution for strengthening bilateral (Sri Lanka - China) cooperation in Agriculture chemistry and technology innovation towards green plant protection. Dr. Wishwajith as the international secretary to Green Plant Protection Joint Laboratory, gave his extraordinary leadership and teamed up, expanding national and international scientific collaboration jointly with local institutions/universities: Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, University of Peradeniya, University of Colombo, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, TRI, ITI, DOA, Minsitry of Science and Technology etc. with Chinese institutions/universities including Guozhu University, Central China Normal University, Nanking Agricultural University, Green Plant Protection Laboratory, China-Sri Lanka Agriculture Chemistry and Technology Cooperation, etc.

Dr.Wishwajith Kandegama is a leading academic at Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening, Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. We are proud to have you and thank you for the opportunities created to Sri Lankan academics, researchers, scientists and students. Contributing to institutional and national development.

Congratulations to Ms. Amanda Bandara, our young academic from the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening, Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka winning three titles of awards, including 1. Best oral presentation in the session of Soil health, Crop production and Sustainable Agriculture, 2. Overall best presentation at the 37th PGIA annual congress - 2025 and 3. PGIA Alumni Award with cash prize- Winner from among the students of the PGIA for the presentation at the 37th PGIA annual congress. Ms. Amanda is a lecturer at the department and also a proud alumna. She is currently pursuing her postgraduate studies in collaboration with PGIA in the area of Assessment of Nutritional Quality of Lettuce as Affected by Iron- and Zinc-Enriched Nutrient Management Techniques. Well done, Lecturer Ms. Amanda Bandara, for your excellent performance.
