පොල්කිච්චා The Oriental Magpie-Robin (Copsychus saularis), known locally as the “Pola Polawa” or “Polkichcha,” is a common 19cm-long resident bird in Sri Lanka. Recognized by its black-and-white plumage and long, white-edged tail often held upright, it is famously known for its loud, melodious songs sung from high perches.
They are familiar, confident birds found in gardens, urban areas, and open forests, often foraging on the ground.
