The Annual Obstetric Immediate Life Support Programme 2026 was successfully conducted on 09 September 2026, organised by the **Anaesthesia Team and Quality Management Unit

We are proud to see our staff actively engage in continuous learning, skills development, and hands-on practice strengthening our collective ability to recognise and respond effectively to obstetric emergencies.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the dedicated ALS instructors for their invaluable contribution, commitment, and the tremendous effort.

Continued learning, effective teamwork, and regular simulation-based practice remain essential in delivering safe, timely, and high-quality care to mothers and newborns

* 🪑 Hospital furniture and fittings
* 🔌 Electrical equipment
* 🛠️ Mechanical equipment
* 🧊 Refrigerators/freezers
* 🏥 Non-specialised hospital equipment
* 🛏️ Beds, trolleys and similar items
* Other repairable equipment that would otherwise become discarded

✨ Maternal Sepsis Awareness Week 2026 ✨

An incredible day of learning, collaboration, and engagement at Castle Street Hospital for Women as we came together to raise awareness about maternal sepsis and its impact on maternal health.

Through interactive activities, educational sessions, and team participation, healthcare professionals strengthened their knowledge on the early recognition, prevention, and management of maternal sepsis because every second counts in saving lives.

A successful Quality Improvement Training Program was conducted over two impactful days at Castle Street Hospital for Women, organized by the Quality Management Unit.⭐️⭐️

We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Wimal Karandagoda, Healthcare Management Consultant and former Director of Castle Hospital, for his guidance and expertise throughout the program.

Special thanks to Mr. Sunil Gamage, Chief Ward Master at Lanka Hospital, for his valuable contribution and support in strengthening patient safety practices.
