The discussion convened by the Young Lawyers Association with trade unions regarding the proposed 22nd Constitutional Amendment and the situation that has arisen in relation to the prisons was held on 11 August 2026 at the Public Library Auditorium.

The matters were discussed extensively, and the parties reached agreements regarding the future course of action.

The People’s Strength Political Movement also participated in this discussion.

We, People's Strength Political Movement , in collaboration with the Supreme Chamber of Youth Governance (SCY-GOV) and the Ketharama Co-existence Society, conducted a dengue awareness sticker campaign as part of the "No Dengue" initiative. The campaign aimed to educate the public on dengue prevention and encourage the community to take proactive measures to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and reduce the spread of dengue.

Today, I had the honour of joining the visit to the Embassy of the State of Qatar to sign the Book of Condolence in memory of the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Today, we officially handed over a proposal to Mr. I. A. Kaleelur Rahman, General Secretary of the United Peace Alliance and Colombo Municipal Councillor, requesting him to present our proposal before the Colombo Municipal Council to establish a well-organized and regulated street food culture in Colombo.

This initiative aims to create new entrepreneurial opportunities for youth and small businesses while promoting tourism, public hygiene, and the city's economic development.

We look forward to the Council's positive consideration and support in making Colombo a vibrant, modern, and inclusive city.
