The Solidarity of Overseas Sinhalese (The Solidarity or the SOS) is a not-for-profit organization formed by a group of Sri Lankans living abroad in various countries. The organization was officially formed on 27 July 2019
with the participation of members attended from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Australia. On 17 February 2021, the Solidarity was registered as a Voluntary Social Services/Non-governmental Organisation (NGO) in Sri Lanka under the Voluntary Social Services Organisations (Registration and Supervision) Act No. 31 of 1980 as amended by Act No.8 of 1998 and operates under the registration number L-174404. The objective of the Solidarity of the Overseas Sinhalese is to support children in Sri Lanka with greater financial difficulties to pursue their educational goals and contribute towards the social wellbeing and development of the Country.
