Congratulations hon. feleti teo new prime minister .

The new Prime Minister has been eagerly anticipated by the nation, and it has finally been elected today.

Yesterday, Sunday the 25th of this month, was the deadline for nominations for the position of Prime Minister, as declared by the Governor General His Excellency Sir Rev. Tofiga Vaevalu Falani.

The Secretary to the Government (Ag) Dr. Tufoua Panapa has confirmed that only one candidate was nominated for the position.

As there was only one candidate, the Governor General, exercising his powers under the Constitution, declared that candidate elected.

Honorable Feleti P Teo has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of the nation.

It is currently unknown which individuals are part of the Government and which are private members, but this will be confirmed at an oath taking ceremony scheduled for this week.

In his address this morning, the Governor General His Excellency Sir Falani, noted that it has been one month since the General Election and thanked the nation and the Caretaker Government for their efforts in maintaining stability until a new leader was appointed today.

Secretary to Government Dr. Tufoua Panapa, officially announced the successful election of the two Members of Parliament from the Constituency of Nukulaelae, Honorable Seve Paeniu and Honorable Namoliki Sualiki Neemia.
