🌲 TRAIL MAINTENANCE FOR A SAFER, MORE RESILIENT FOREST

As part of Project PARSIFAL 2, the Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve team has completed the cleaning and rehabilitation of the Blue Cliff Trail in Mar Sarkis and the Sen Mountain Trail, located within the southern buffer zone of the Reserve.

The works included clearing and restoring the existing trails, removing accumulated dry wood and shrubs, and reducing combustible vegetation along the routes. These actions improve trail accessibility and visitor safety while significantly reducing wildfire risk in this sensitive forest area. 🔥🌿

Every maintained trail contributes to protecting Horsh Ehden’s forests, biodiversity, landscapes, and surrounding communities.

🔥 TRAIL 2: A STRATEGIC FIREBREAK AND EMERGENCY-ACCESS ROUTE

Under Project PARSIFAL 2, the Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve team has been cleaning, clearing and preparing Trail 2 to strengthen wildfire prevention and emergency-response capacity within the Reserve.

The fieldwork included removing fallen rocks and other obstacles from the road, cutting and clearing dead branches, and removing accumulated dry wood and combustible vegetation from the surrounding trees and roadside.

Following these works, Trail 2 now serves two essential purposes:

🚒 A clear and accessible emergency route for firefighting vehicles
🔥 A strategic internal firebreak that can help slow the spread of wildfire

Maintaining this route enables first responders and firefighting teams to reach vulnerable forest areas more quickly and safely during an emergency. At the same time, reducing dry vegetation and combustible material helps lower fire risk along this important corridor.

Every cleared branch, removed obstacle and rehabilitated section strengthens the Reserve’s preparedness and contributes to protecting its forests, biodiversity, visitors and neighboring communities. 🌲💚

🌠 A Night to Remember at Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve! ✨🌲

Our Meteor Shower Hike was a truly successful and unforgettable event! The experience began with an informative presentation, followed by a scenic one-kilometre hike beneath the stars to one of our reforestation sites. 🥾🌿

From there, we watched the spectacular meteor shower illuminate the night sky, captured beautiful photographs, and shared wonderful moments surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature. ☄️📸🌌

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and made the event so special, and to the dedicated Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve team whose efforts made this magical evening possible. 💚
