The Lebanese Ministry of Culture, represented by the Directorate General of Antiquities, is a main partner in "Archeomedsites", a project aiming at the safeguard, valorisation and management of cultural heritage. Tyre World Heritage Site is the focal point in the framework of "Archeomedsites" project. Tyre's Al-Bass and Al-Madina sites will host a range of events involving officials, experts, stud
ents and the civil society. Numerous activities will emerge from Tyre and reach different regions of Lebanon, raising awareness of cultural heritage among the whole population. Workshops, training sessions and volunteer work will prove that heritage is far from boredom. Therefore, a new bond will be created between the local community and its environment, generating respect and interest which will eventually lead to a future generation that is responsible and caring. By December 2015, the project will be concluded with a management plan for the archaeological sites and urban contexts. So if YOU, dear fellow citizen, are curious to learn more about our cultural heritage, want to share with us your expertise or even be part of our upcoming activities and events, be our guest!
