AHLN President’s End-of-Year Reflection | Looking Ahead to 2026
As we close 2025, I would like to sincerely thank our member organizations, individual members, committee chairs, partners, and collaborators. Your commitment and engagement are what keep AHLN active, credible, and moving forward.
Growth comes with responsibility. AHLN will continue to operate with clear structures, accountability, and regular coordination to ensure our work remains focused, effective, and impactful.
Our growth is grounded in values. With a focus on the MENA region, AHLN will not normalize injustice, impunity, or the misuse of democratic language. We remain committed to meaningful representation of women, the substantive inclusion of youth, and the protection of liberal voices. Violence against women, in all its forms, will not be tolerated.
We will continue to advocate for the protection of civilians—particularly women and children—in conflict-affected areas across the region. On climate action, AHLN will push for a just and sustainable green transition, promoting climate resilience and the responsible, efficient use of natural resources as a core pillar of political and social justice.
Looking ahead to 2026, our direction is clear:
➡️ 2026 will be a youth-led year, focused on intergenerational exchange and equitable cross-regional dialogue, rooted in equality, mutual respect, and shared responsibility.
➡️ We will launch the Yalla Hurriya webinar series, the AHLN monthly newsletter, and the AHLN Liberal Training Academy, strengthening political education, dialogue, and capacity building across the region.
In times when silence is easier, we choose clarity.
We will learn, adapt, and move forward—together.
Wishing you all a peaceful, resilient, and successful 2026.
Myrna Mneimneh
President, AHLN
