‏رفعت كندا العقوبات الاقتصادية الواسعة المفروضة على ⁧‫ #سوريا‬⁩، ما يفتح الباب أمام تعاون تجاري مستقبلي. وفي الوقت نفسه، لا يزال الأفراد المرتبطون بمرحلة الأسد مُدرجين على لوائح العقوبات، مع إدخال تعديلات تتيح إدراج المسؤولين عن انتهاكات جسيمة لحقوق الإنسان.

Canada has lifted broad economic sanctions on Syria—removing barriers to trade and investment and opening the door to future commercial engagement. At the same time, Assad-era individuals remain listed, and new listings target those responsible for serious human rights abuses.

Le Canada a levé de larges sanctions économiques contre la Syrie, facilitant le commerce et l’investissement. Les individus liés à l’ère Assad restent sanctionnés, et de nouvelles désignations visent les auteurs de graves violations des droits de la personne.

The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that Canada is amending sanctions under the Special Economic Measures (Syria) Regulations (Syria Regulations).

قبل أيام من عيد القداسة، كان لي شرف لقاء يوحنا العاشر يازجي، بطريرك أنطاكية وسائر المشرق للروم الأرثوذكس، والاستماع إلى تأملاته حول المجتمع المسيحي في #سوريا، ومفهوم المواطنة، وقناعته بضرورة تقبّل جيراننا كما هم.

Quelques jours avant Noël, j’ai eu le privilège de rencontrer John X Yazigi, Patriarche grec-orthodoxe d’Antioche et de tout l’Orient, pour échanger sur la communauté en , la citoyenneté et sa conviction que nous devons accepter nos voisins tels qu’ils sont.

Days before Christmas, I was grateful to meet John X Yazigi, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, to hear his reflections on the community in , citizenship, and his belief that we must accept our neighbours as they are.

Mes pensées vont aux familles des deux soldats de l’armée américaine et de l’interprète civil américain tués aujourd’hui à Palmyre, en , ainsi qu’aux personnes blessées. Le Canada se tient aux côtés de ses partenaires de la Coalition mondiale contre Daech.

أفكاري مع عائلات جنديين من الجيش الأميركي والمترجم المدني الأميركي الذين قُتلوا اليوم في تدمر، ‫ #سوريا‬، ومع الجرحى. يقف كندا إلى جانب شركائه في التحالف الدولي في مكافحة داعش.

My thoughts are with the families of the two U.S. Army soldiers and the civilian U.S. interpreter killed today in Palmyra, , and with those wounded. Canada stands with our Global Coalition partners in the fight against Daesh.

One year on from liberation, Syrians are gathering to celebrate! Progress is real, even as challenges remain. With courage and resilience, Syrians continue to push forward. Canada is proud to stand with them as they build a safer, secure country where all can shape their future.

Un an après la libération, les Syriens se rassemblent pour célébrer! Les progrès sont réels, malgré des défis persistants. Avec courage et résilience, ils continuent d’avancer. Le Canada est fier de se tenir à leurs côtés alors qu’ils bâtissent un pays plus sûr et plus stable, où chacun peut façonner son avenir.

بعد عام على التحرير، يجتمع السوريون للاحتفال! فالتقدّم حقيقي رغم التحديات المستمرة. وبالشجاعة والصمود، يواصل السوريون المضيّ قدماً. وكندا فخورة بالوقوف إلى جانبهم فيما يعملون على بناء بلد أكثر أمناً واستقراراً يشارك فيه الجميع في صنع مستقبلهم

‏أؤكّد أن كندا أزالت ⁧‫ #سوريا‬⁩ من قائمة الدول الداعمة للإرهاب وشطبت هيئة تحرير الشام من قائمة الكيانات الإرهابية. هذه الخطوات تنسجم مع مواقف حلفائنا وتعكس التقدّم الذي أحرزته الحكومة الانتقالية في سوريا. وكندا تقف إلى جانب السوريين في سعيهم نحو مستقبل شامل ومستقر ومزدهر

Canada has removed from the List of Foreign State Supporters of Terrorism and delisted HTS. These steps align with our allies and reflect progress by Syria’s transitional government. Canada stands with Syrians in their pursuit of an inclusive, stable and prosperous future.
