International lecture on Kazakhstan’s Historical and Cultural Heritage
In May 2026, Assel Amargaziyeva, a 2nd-year PhD student at the Department of Archaeology, Ethnology, and Museology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and a Senior Researcher at the «Esik» State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, completed a scientific internship conducted by Professor Andrzej Rozwadowski, Doctor of Archaeology in the Faculty of Archaeology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. During the internship, A. Amargaziyeva delivered a series of important lectures aimed at promoting Kazakh archaeology and cultural heritage within the international academic community.
As part of the internship, on May 18, she presented a lecture titled «Archaeological Heritage: Rock Art and the Golden Man» to 1st year students of the Faculty of History at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
On May 19, she presented a lecture titled «The Golden Man as a Unique Historical and Cultural Heritage of Kazakhstan» to 2nd year master students of the Faculty of Archaeology. During these lectures, she presented research on rock art in Kazakhstan, its historical and cultural significance, and the place of the Issyk burial mound in world archaeology. International students and young researchers showed great interest in the Kazakh steppe and actively exchanged views on the topic.
The international scientific exchange continued with an invited presentation by A. Amargaziyeva at the Institute of Archaeology of Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest higher education institutions in Europe, located in Kraków. At a scientific seminar, she delivered a presentation titled «Archaeological Heritage of Kazakhstan: Rock Art and the Golden Man». The seminar was attended by faculty members, researchers, and institute students. The presentation covered current issues in the study of petroglyphs in Kazakhstan, the historical, cultural, and scientific value of the Golden Man, as well as the animal style of the Saka period and symbols reflecting the worldview of ancient nomads.
