Ministerul Afacerilor Externe/ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Romania launched on Monday, 16 February 2026, the annual scholarship program offered by the Government of Romania to foreign citizens from non-EU countries for the 2026–2027 academic year, based on Government Decision no. 288/1993 regarding the education in Romania of citizens from other countries.
The program is implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and funded from the budget of the Ministry of Education and Research. It aims to develop and deepen long-term bilateral relations with the students’ countries of origin, while also promoting Romanian higher education institutions more effectively at a global level.
Applications must be submitted through the online Study in Romania platform, managed by the Executive Unit for Financing Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI), by creating an individual account.
