2ID Photo of the Week: READY. TRAINED. LETHAL.

This week’s highlight captures U.S. Army Spc. Dillon Starnes, an infantryman assigned to 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2d Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division, during Expert Soldier/Infantry Badge train-up week one at Camp Casey, Republic of Korea. The E3B challenges Soldiers through physically and mentally demanding tasks designed to strengthen readiness, sharpen warfighting skills and reinforce proficiency across the force. The training highlights the discipline and determination required to meet the Army’s highest standards.

⚔️ THE STANDARD IS SET: E3B PRE-TESTING ⚔️

The training wheels are off. Week 2 of E3B has officially kicked into high gear, moving our candidates into the high-stakes phase of pre-testing.

Across the lanes, the focus of the 2nd Infantry ROK-US Combined Division has shifted from learning the basics to perfecting the ex*****on. With the pace accelerating, our Soldiers, Infantrymen, and Field Medics are being evaluated on their mental discipline and physical endurance. This is where muscle memory meets the clock, and where the smallest attention to detail determines who moves forward.

There’s no room for "almost" when it comes to being . These Warriors are putting in the work now to ensure that when the official testing starts next week, they are ready to dominate. 🇰🇷🇺🇸

Week 2 of E3B marks the start of pretesting.

The expectations are higher, the pace is faster, and performance matters in every event. Attention to detail, time management, physical endurance, and mental discipline are all being evaluated now.

This is the point where preparation gets tested. The focus shifts from learning the standard to consistently meeting it under pressure.

U.S. Army Master Sgt. Ernest R. Kouma and U.S. Army Sgt. William R. Pittman both received the Medal of Honor on May 19, 1951 for their heroic actions in the Korean War.

U.S. Army Master Sgt. Ernest R. Kouma, assigned to Company A, 72nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, was presented the Medal of Honor on May 19, 1951, for going above and beyond the call of duty during the Korean War on Aug. 31, 1950, near the Naktong River, Korea. As over 500 enemy forces overran friendly positions during a massive nighttime assault, Kouma held ground in his tank and fought off repeated attacks despite being wounded. At one point, he exposed himself to enemy fire to man a machine gun from the rear of his tank and continued fighting for more than nine hours. His heroic stand delayed the enemy advance, allowed friendly forces time to regroup, and inflicted heavy enemy casualties.

U.S. Army Sgt. William R. Pittman, assigned to Company C, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, was presented the Medal of Honor on May 19, 1951, for going above and beyond the call of duty during the Korean War on Nov. 26, 1950, near Kujang-dong, Korea. While leading his squad in a counterattack against enemy positions, Pittman continued to advance despite being wounded by mortar fire. During the assault, he threw himself on an enemy gr***de to shield his fellow Soldiers from the blast, saving the lives of the men around him. Pittman’s extraordinary bravery and selfless actions reflected the highest traditions of military service.
