Hari Kebudayaan (Cultural Day)
Malaysian Student Associations’ in Korea (PPMK)
May 10th, 2025
📍Dongyang Mirae University, Seoul

The Indonesian Traditional Dance Group (KTTI) was invited by Indonesian Student Association in South Korea (PERPIKA) to perform in Hari Kebudayaan or Cultural Day presented by Malaysian Student Associations’ in Korea (PPMK). Our team performed Gita Cinta Nusantara Dance.

🔷 Gita Cinta Nusantara, medley of Indonesian folksongs. The medley consists of folksongs from 7 different tribes: “Sigulempong” (Batak), “Kicir-Kicir” (Betawi), “Gethuk” (Javanese), “Paris Barantai” (Banjar), “Si Patokaan (Minahasa), “Janger” (Balinese), “Manuk Dadali” (Sundanese). The choreography was created by 5 members of KTTI.

1. Javanese Gamelan Class (At 1-3 PM)

Indonesia Diplomatic Reception
November 1st, 2024

The Indonesian Traditional Dance Group (KTTI) enlivened the Indonesia Diplomatic Reception 2024 by performing two dances: Benggong and Gita Cinta Nusantara. KTTI had chance to present on 2 stages and performed Gita Cinta Nusantara at the same time. This was followed by a flash mob of Indonesian songs with the audience.

🔷 Benggong, Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara
This dance was reflects the absence of peace, tranquility, and well-being longed for by the Manggarai people. Nowdays the song is also performed to welcome distinguished guests at official ceremonies

🔶 Gita Cinta Nusantara, medly of Indonesian folksongs

International Festival at Korean Defense Language Institute (KDLI), Icheon, Gyeonggi-do.
온 누리 한마당 축제, 국방어학원, 경기도 이천시.
Tuesday, 24 September 2024.

The Indonesian Traditional Dance Group (KTTI) enlivened the International Festival at KDLI by performing Lenggang Nyai Dance. This was followed by a flash mob of Indonesian song Gemu Famire with the audience.

*Lenggang Nyai, Jakarta
Inspired by the story of Nyai Dasimah, a beautiful lady who lived in Netherland colonial era.

*Gemu Famire, Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara
It was originally created to welcome visitors to the city of Maumeres in East Nusa Tenggara Province

The Indonesian Traditional Dance Group (KTTI) enlivened the Indonesian Festival by performing four dances: Jonggan, Rendeng Bojong, Lenggang Nyai, and Gita Cinta Nusantara. This was followed by a flash mob of Indonesian songs with the audience.

*Jonggan Dance, West Kalimantan
‘Jonggan’ is derived from the Dayak language meaning ‘dance’.

*Rendeng Bojong Dance, Sundanese
The dance aims to restore the atmosphere of the social dance’s warmth by presenting men and women as couples.

*Lenggang Nyai, Jakarta
Inspired by the story of Nyai Dasimah, a beautiful lady who lived in Netherland colonial era.
