This special event will feature award-winning writer and translator Paige Aniyah Morris in a thought-provoking conversation exploring how contemporary Korean literature engages with climate and environmental issues. Through the works of acclaimed authors including Han Kang, whose writing Morris has translated, the program will examine how storytelling and translation can deepen our understanding of humanity’s evolving relationship with the natural world while building cultural connections across borders.
Paige Aniyah Morris holds BAs in Ethnic Studies and Literary Arts with Honors from Brown University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Rutgers University. A recipient of awards from the Daesan Foundation, the American Literary Translators Association, the Fulbright Program, and more, she has translated works by Pak Kyongni, Han Kang, Heuijung Hur, and many others.
The evening will include a talk, audience discussion, and Q&A session on literature, translation, and environmental storytelling. The event is open to all, including high school students interested in literature, translation, and environmental topics. Attendees are also welcome to bring copies of Morris’s translated works for a book signing following the program. Advance reservation is required.
The talk will be in English, but Korean interpretation(AI) will be provided.
