Global Design Internship 2026 is ready to support Korean entry-level designers for a global internship opportunity. 🙌🌏
Fully funded by the Korean government, we call for overseas companies in need of qualified design interns. For selected interns, KIDP will provide financial package that differs according to their internship track: travel & living expenses for on-site internships and a virtual internship package of working space and compensations.

In 2025, we successfully supported 82 internships at 58 companies in 19 countries. GDI 2026 Application Deadline is until March 23, 17:00 KST.

In the first week of February, the Top 3 winners of the 5th Korea+Sweden Young Design Award participated in a curated design tour in Sweden. 🇸🇪

Through visits to Svensk Form, Konstfack University, design studio Form Us With Love, and IKEA in Almhult, Sweden, the program provided valuable opportunities and creative exchange for our young designers.

The Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP) took part in K-EXPO 2025 (UAE), held from November 15–16 at Global Village Dubai, the UAE’s largest multicultural festival park.
K-EXPO is a major global Hallyu event hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), where various Korean government agencies come together to promote exports in cultural and creative industries.
Representing K-Design on the global stage, KIDP showcased 14 leading Korean brands at the Design Korea Pavilion. 🙌🙌

DESIGN KOREA 2025 will take place from November 12 to 16 at COEX Hall D in Seoul, bringing together design trends, cutting-edge technologies, and industry collaboration under this year‘s theme, ”New Orders Drawn by Design“. The theme exhibition explores how design merges with emerging technologies such as generative AI, mobility, and smart devices to move beyond existing frameworks and create new orders of innovation.

🎤 Survival and Evolution : Design Conference

For the first time this year, the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP)’s Design Korea and the Seoul Design Festival have jointly organized an international conference under the theme “Survival and Evolution.” A total of seven speakers will take the stage in line with this theme. .official

The conference will take place on November 13, from 10:00 to 17:00, at COEX, 4F, Room 401 (Grand Conference Room).

It will be divided into two main sessions — Part 1: “Evolution: From Emergence to Evolution, The Direction of Design-Led Innovation” and Part 2: “Survival: Survival Strategies and the Role of Design in a New Order.” Global leaders in AI and emerging platforms will speak the language of ’evolution‘, while visionary designers and architects will share the wisdom of ’survival‘. This conference stands as a powerful testament to how design is preparing for tomorrow —and shaping a creative future that both endures and transforms.

[LIVE at the Canton Fair 2025]
In addition to the exhibition, KIDP is managing a range of business support programs for the participating companies. On October 16, KIDP hosted its own Design Business Networking event at the Langham Hotel in Guangzhou, inviting about 40 local and global clients.

Korean Design Studios drew strong attention by introducing their corporate profiles, areas of expertise, and diverse global projects. Through one-on-one meetings with clients, they discussed design trends and explored potential future collaboration projects, while engaging in active networking.

[LIVE at the Canton Fair 2025] For over a decade, the Korea Institute of Design Promotion has been selecting top-tier products and design-driven companies to represent Korea at the Canton Fair in China. 🇰🇷🇨🇳

The Canton Fair, officially known as the China Import and Export Fair, is a major event for global businesses seeking to source Chinese products or enter the Chinese market. Held biannually in Guangzhou since 1957, it serves as a critical hub for international trade, attracting over 25,000 exhibitors and 200,000 buyers from more than 200 countries. The fair is a key platform for export-import matchmaking and showcases China‘s innovations across a variety of industries.

This year, 10 leading Korean design companies are participating in the Canton Fair from October 15 to October 19. These companies were chosen not only for their exceptional design capabilities but also for their global market experience. One-on-one business meetings are scheduled throughout the event.
