"Hang and bang"
In late July, our glorious Mortar Platoon finally conducted a MORTEP. Shooting off more than 1,000 rounds in the span of just two days. The purpose of a MORTEP is to certify a platoon in its ability to safely employ accurate indirect fires, maintaining true lethality.

From the 22nd through the 26th of May, The Thunder Platoon executed gunners exams. Testing the proficiency of each member on both track and ground mounted. Finalizing new gunners and overall crews per each gun in preparation for MORTEP.

M̶o̶t̶o̶r̶ ̶p̶o̶o̶l̶ Mortar Monday
Over the past few months, Thunder Platoon has been keeping it busy. As it continues to get sunnier and hotter out. Mortars have been conducting numerous gun drills improving their abilities and effectiveness In preparation for their upcoming Gunner’s Examination and shortly followed by a Mortar Training and Evaluation Program (MORTEP) in June.

“One shot one kill”
The purpose of a sniper is to provide precision long range fire on selected targets and gather battlefield information while maintaining concealment. Snipers led by SFC Zelenak from HHC held a weeklong sniper tryouts course. The tryouts consisted of advanced marksmanship with the M110, how to use a spotter scope, and instructions from TACOM on the Army’s new MK22 PSR (not pictured), and how to properly utilize a gillie suit.

7. in the “Keyword Search” input “THANKSGIVING”
8. SCROLL DOWN and click the “ + “ button
9. A new dialogue box will present. Click “Add to Cart”
10. You will need to identify the number of family members and who will do the pick up.

A receipt number will be sent to your email once you complete the transaction.

“A little cold don’t hurt no body.” E6s and above from Headhunters Company started this chilly Tuesday morning by conducting an Army Combat Fitness Test. The ACFT was introduced to better reflect the physical tasks and stresses of a combat environment.
