부산국제건축제 부산국제건축문화제는 부산의 건축인과 관심 있는 시민이 참여하여 공모전, 학술행사, 워크숍, 전시회, 이벤트, 연구용역사업 수행 등 다양한 활동을 펼쳐가는 공공적 성격의 열린 조직입니다.

부산국제건축문화제는 2001년부터 부산의 건축인과 관심 있는 시민이 참여하여 부산 도시건축의 발전방향을 모색하고 실천하기 위하여 공모전, 학술행사, 워크숍, 전시회, 이벤트, 연구용역사업 수행 등 다양한 활동을 펼쳐가는 공공적 성격의 열린 조직입니다. The Busan International Architectural Culture Festival is a not-for-profit organization that carries out various activities such as contests, academic events, workshops, exhibitions, and research and business services. Established in 2001, it aims to find ways for the development of architecture in cooperation with those who are interested in architecture.

"K-Architecture in Transition: Glimpses into Seoul & Busan"

Join Korea's Official Open Session at the UIA 2026 Barcelona World Congress of Architects.

Seoul, a hyper-dense global metropolis, and Busan, a city shaped by mountains, the sea, and its port, have developed distinct architectural cultures under different urban conditions.

Through the work and experiences of architects and urban experts from both cities, this session offers a unique opportunity to explore the diversity, challenges, and future possibilities of contemporary Korean architecture.

During the Congress, visitors can also experience the Seoul Pavilion and Busan Pavilion exhibitions at DHub, showcasing the unique urban landscapes and architectural cultures of the two cities.

서로 다른 도시가 만들어낸 공간과 건축, 그리고 그 안에 담긴 건축가들의 이야기를 만나보세요.

서울과 부산의 건축가 및 도시 전문가들이 직접 참여하여 자신의 작업과 경험을 바탕으로 오늘날 한국 건축의 다양한 모습과 미래 가능성을 소개합니다.

또한 세계건축대회 기간 동안 DHub에서는 서울관과 부산관 전시도 함께 운영됩니다.
두 도시가 만들어 온 고유한 도시 풍경과 건축 문화를 전시를 통해 더욱 깊이 경험하실 수 있습니다.

6월, 부산광역시는 세계 최대 규모의 국제 건축행사인 「UIA 2026 바르셀로나 세계건축대회」에 참가합니다.

부산관 전시 「Busan : Topography of Architecture」에서는 산과 바다가 만나는 독특한 지형 속에서 형성된 부산의 도시와 건축 이야기를 선보입니다.

부산 사람들의 삶과 건축가들의 고민이 오랜 시간 쌓이며 만들어낸 도시 풍경, 그리고 지형에 적응하는 건축을 넘어 스스로 하나의 새로운 지형이 된 부산의 건축을 세계에 소개합니다.

또한 서울특별시, 한국건축단체연합(FIKA)과 함께 대한민국 오픈세션도 개최합니다.

🌍 Busan Meets the World of Architecture

This June, Busan Metropolitan City will participate in the UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects in Barcelona, one of the world's largest international gatherings for architects and urban professionals.

At the Busan Pavilion, “Busan: Topography of Architecture,” visitors will discover the story of a city shaped by mountains, the sea, and its port.

Over time, the ways people have lived within Busan's unique topography, together with the ideas of its architects, have shaped the city's distinctive urban landscape. Today, architecture in Busan does more than respond to its topography—it has become a topography of its own.

Busan will also co-host the Korea Open Session with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Federation of Institutes of Korean Architects (FIKA).

Under the theme “K-Architecture in Transition: Glimpses into Seoul & Busan,” architects from Seoul and Busan will share their work, experiences, and perspectives, offering insights into the diverse character and future possibilities of contemporary Korean architecture.
