The Department of Labour hosted its first Employee Reset Day on Thursday, 30th April, under the theme “Everyone Plays a Role: Shared Responsibility for a Healthy Workplace.” In commemoration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Oldain Claxton, Clinical Social Worker and Counsellor, who led a very engaging and insightful discussion on the importance of creating and maintaining healthy workplace environments. The team actively participated throughout the session, making it both impactful and interactive.

The Department remains committed to promoting workplace wellness and a good psychosocial work culture among ourselves and across the entire Island of Nevis.

The Department of Labour successfully hosted its annual Occupational Safety and Health Seminar on Tuesday, April 28th, in commemoration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

This year’s session, led by Mrs. Lornette Swanston-Morton, Counsellor and Educator, who, in alignment with this year’s theme “Good psychosocial working environments: A pathway to thriving workers and strong organization,” focused on areas such as toxic workspaces, work-life balance, practicing good communication in the workplace and leading with empathy as an employer and employee.

The seminar was highly engaging and interactive, with meaningful discussions on creating safer and healthier workplaces. Participants actively contributed, shared experiences, and gained practical insights on how to create and strengthen a good psychosocial work environment.

Together, we must continue to promote a culture where psychosocial health is a priority and create workspaces where every worker can truly thrive.
