The failed former Deputy Prime Minister Shawn Richards wants the country to focus on water trucks. The St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party prefers to focus on providing caring solutions.

The reality is that his Unity administration spent seven years in government doing absolutely nothing while longstanding water challenges continued to affect communities across the country. They talked. The Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew's administration got to work on day one.

Since 2022, the Labour Government has invested nearly EC$100 million in water security and resilience. That investment includes the construction of the 2-million-gallon-per-day desalination plant, expanded pipeline infrastructure, upgraded pumping systems, national groundwater exploration and drilling programmes, additional water storage capacity, and the establishment of a local water tank manufacturing facility to improve access to affordable storage tanks.

The Labour Government also drilled and brought the Cayon well into service, significantly improving supply in an area that struggled with water issues for years.

Today, St. Kitts and Nevis, like many countries, is experiencing severe drought conditions driven by climate change. In those circumstances, deploying water trucks to affected communities is not evidence of failure. It is evidence of a caring and responsible government responding to people's immediate needs while continuing to build long-term solutions.

What would be a failure is doing nothing.

The people can judge for themselves the difference between seven years of excuses and four years of investment, action, and results.

πŸ”΄ School is almost out, and the Labour Government wants to make sure our young people have somewhere to go, something to do, and people who care around them.

The Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs has put together the full listing of 2026 Summer Camps being held right here on St. Kitts. Every camp, every detail, all in one place.

Because keeping our youth engaged, active, and connected during the vacation period matters. That is not just good parenting advice. That is good governance.

πŸ”΄ The goal for St. Kitts and Nevis is 100% renewable electricity, and we are building the roadmap to get there.

The Renewable Energy Transition Roadmap is now being developed to map out every step of the journey. The policies. The investments. The technologies. The partnerships. Everything needed to move this Federation completely away from imported fossil fuels and into a cleaner, more resilient energy future.

This is the Sustainable Island State Agenda in practice. A real plan, backed by real commitment, for every household and every community in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Our children deserve to grow up in a country that runs on clean energy. We are making that happen. πŸ‡°πŸ‡³β€οΈ

Grocery packages. Direct relief. Real action from the One-on-One Consultations he has been holding across Constituency 5.

πŸ”΄ From a roadside stall in Old Road to a fully opened supermarket in Middle Island. That is the Troy Lewis story, and we are proud of it.

Troy started small. He worked as a taxi operator, he built his business step by step, and he never stopped pushing. Now MI Supermarket is open, and an entire community in C4 is better for it.

This is exactly what the Labour Government had in mind when we committed to building a real environment for small businesses to grow. When entrepreneurs are supported, jobs are created, communities are strengthened, and the whole Federation wins.

Congratulations to Troy, his family, and every member of the MI Supermarket team. This is what progress looks like up close. πŸ‡°πŸ‡³β€οΈ

πŸ”΄ The Quarry Division is working, and the results speak for themselves.

Under this Labour Government, investments in upgrading the Quarry Division are delivering real, tangible outcomes for our Federation. Every load of material that moves out of that quarry supports infrastructure development across St. Kitts and Nevis. It creates economic opportunity. It generates revenue that goes back into building this country.

The dedicated team at the Quarry Division shows up every day with professionalism and commitment, and that work matters. This is exactly the kind of investment in local capacity that our 2022 manifesto promised, and we are delivering on it.

Strong infrastructure. Stronger Federation. πŸ‡°πŸ‡³

FACT CHECK!

The people of St. Kitts and Nevis deserve facts, not fear.
A social media post currently circulating attempts to create the impression that student nurses have been neglected and left without support. That claim couldn’t be any much further from the truth.

The facts are straightforward.

Student nurses currently receive a monthly stipend of EC$1,400.00. In fact, that stipend was increased from EC$1,200.00 following SKNLP being elected in 2022, providing greater support to those pursuing one of the most important professions in our society.

Student nurses continue to receive this stipend throughout the duration of their program at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College, up to the completion of their studies.

What has not been explained is that there is a transition period between graduation and formal employment within the public service. During this period, graduates prepare for the Regional Nursing Examination, which is a requirement for professional practice throughout the region.

No one disputes that this transition period presents challenges. We understand the concerns of students and their families. Those concerns deserve attention, discussion, and practical solutions.

What they do not deserve is to be used as a political talking point through incomplete information designed to create anxiety and confusion.

This administration has demonstrated its commitment to education and healthcare through tuition-free access to CFBC, increased support for students, investments in healthcare infrastructure, the recruitment of medical professionals, and the continued expansion of opportunities for young people.

The welfare of our student nurses matters. Their concerns are being heard. Their contributions are valued. And efforts continue to ensure that they are supported as they move from training to professional practice.

Those are the facts!
