SKNDF Reaffirms Strategic Partnership with the United States of America.

On Thursday, 11 June 2026, Commander Steve Hulse, Senior Military Liaison Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados, and his replacement paid a courtesy call on Force Commander (Ag) of the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF), Major Kayode Sutton, at Camp Springfield.

The visit marked Commander Hulse’s final engagement before handing over duties to incoming senior military Laison Officer, Commander Morgan Fowler.

The meeting reaffirmed the enduring partnership and commitment between the SKNDF and the U.S. military. Discussions focused on advancing joint cooperation, strengthening regional security, enhancing capacity building through modern fit for purpose training and maintaining operational readiness across the Eastern Caribbean and by extension the western hemisphere.

Major Sutton commended Commander Hulse for his dedicated service and support, and welcomed Commander Fowler as the SKNDF prepares to build on this momentum and deepen bilateral ties.

The SKNDF remains committed to forging strong regional and international partnerships. We look forward to continued collaboration with the United States of America in advancing peace, security, and stability throughout the region.

Also in attendance: was the SKNDF Force Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Saint Clair Williams.

A New Uniform. A Renewed Commitment to Service.

Today, the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) proudly unveiled its new digital combat uniform — another milestone in the Force’s modernization and commitment to national security.

The launch coincided with the anniversary of the attack on Camp Springfield, 10 June, a date etched into the history of the Defence Force. As we reflected on the courage, sacrifice, and resilience shown that day, we also reaffirmed our enduring duty to defend the Federation and serve its people diligently, honorably, honestly and professionally.

This new uniform is more than a change in appearance. It represents the SKNDF’s investment in professionalism, operational readiness, and building a modern force equipped for an evolving security landscape. Furthermore, this launch cements the Force Commander, Major Kayode Sutton strategic vision gracefully summarized in three distinct pillars; Professionalization, Modernization and Growth.

Major Sutton states, for decades, the men and women of the SKNDF have stood ready to protect our sovereignty, support law enforcement, respond to natural disasters, contribute to regional security, and serve communities across Saint Kitts and Nevis. Today’s launch renews that commitment and shows our determination to remain prepared, relevant, and effective in every mission.

As we honoured our past and remembered those who stood firm in defence of the nation, we also look confidently to the future — committed to excellence, dedicated to service, and ready to answer the call whenever duty demands.

New uniform. Same mission.
Strong in Service. United in Purpose. Ready for the Future. 🇰🇳
