Welcome to my house I named Mutrak – signifying the 12 steps on Buddha’s path. I’m eternally grateful to King Sihanouk who made it possible for me to buy this plot of land. He has always supported me as a Cambodian artist. The house itself is an old wooden house from Kompong Kdey, about 60km away from Siem Reap in the middle of the countryside. I rebuilt it in Siem Reap and added my own touch and
decorations to it. The experience of staying at the house is an authentic one, the feel of a real Cambodian wooden house. Paintings and sculptures around the house tell the stories of the gods at the time of the Khmer Empire and the building of Angkor Wat. There are many details to be discovered and all of them have a deeper meaning – I’m happy to tell you more about that. The house is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood, around 5min away (by tuk tuk or motor) from the center of town, which is the Old Market. It’s private and great for travel in group and family. There is a small art studio on the property too, it is currently the residence of a young artist I support and train. It would be nice if you could get to know him and he will be there to assist you during your stay.
