Strengthening strategic intervention into violent conflict to foster sustainable peace in Asia.

The Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (CPCS) is a Cambodia-based organization established in response to a commitment to strengthen, support, and share Asian approaches to conflict transformation. We aim to contribute to peacebuilding efforts in the region with the overall goal of enhancing the sustainability and efficiency of peace work in Asia and beyond. CPCS offers structured conflict transformation courses, such as the unique Applied Conflict Transformation Studies (ACTS) Master's Programme (together with Pannasatra University Cambodia). organizes seminars and trainings for a wide range of stakeholders in the region.

It was meaningful to spend time with colleagues, board members and friends from the Cambodia Peace Gallery, CPCS and the ACT- Alliance for Conflict Transformation Organization, reconnecting and reflecting on the peace work that has brought us together over the years. From Cambodia’s peacebuilding journey to the work we continue today, we have much to learn from one another.

The Peace Gallery offered a fitting space to pause, reflect on how far we have come and consider what comes next. Grateful for the trust and relationships nurtured over time and for the continued learning that keeps this partnership growing.

With great sadness we share the news that Simon Fisher has passed away -

Simon has made a great many contributions to the theory and practice of peace around the world: He was a great champion and founder of the Applied Conflict Transformation Studies (ACTS) Ma and PhD programs, and deeply committed to making accessible opportunities for people from conflict affected communities to have opportunities to study, reflect, and learn from one another. During his tenure as a CPCS Board member, Simon’s wisdom, steady guidance, commitment, and practice solutions helped CPCS to develop its core approaches and values. Simon has been a teacher and mentor to so many peace practitioners across Asia - and the world - and his teachings are a legacy that will continue.

Please join us in honoring his memory by sharing a story or message of condolences to his family as they celebrate his life.
