The Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs Association celebrated their 4th Anniversary. This is an excellent example for a case study of how a business association in a low-middle income country can slowly become sustainable. They deliver services to the members, are building their skills for advocacy and are guided by competent board members. My testimonial: https://www.kaltura.com/tiny/jfs3k

Everybody has heard of Michele Pham who from her YouTube videos on how to do make up has become a millionaire, got a contract with l'Oreal to develop her own line of cosmetics and created a full range of business. In Cambodia, it looks like Mean Sonyta is following in her path in doing these neat videos showing Khmer make up and styling. Congrats! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95Q3a6pVQWE

I often hear that if those who are successful break the path and invent new business models. This is particularly true in the NEW ECONOMY. read this fascinating story of make-up guru Michelle Phan who became famous with YouTube clips but is opening a center to help other beauty gurus to become as successful as her. She is building revenues through membership. You may do something like this in Phnom Penh if you are already a YouTube star?

With her growing network of vloggers and beauty-box subscribers, Youtube star Michelle Phan is changing the marketing playbook for makeup.

Do you ask yourself "what I can do to make my village, my country, the world better?". Join or create a not-for-profit organization ? The problem with NGOs is that they are not sustainable, they keep looking for fund and end up doing what donors want, instead of pursuing their vision. A new way for each of us to do something different that can help improve our country, is to start a social entreprise. A social entreprise is a for-profit initiative but which has the objective to make a social impact instead of just making money. In Cambodia, you can find: Teuk Saat (1001 Fontaines - recently awarded $500,000 by Google Foundation; the circus Phare Ponleu Selpak, etc.) -- You can be next !

Join this free 4-week e-learning course developed for social entrepreneurs and NGOs to learn how to develop and implement inclusive and successful business models. A moderator helps you along the way - Register now !
