Business Delegation from Hong Kong, Guangdong, and Macao Expresses Interest in Exploring Investment Opportunities in Cambodia's High-Potential Sectors
On the afternoon of 7 August 2026, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from a business delegation of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce–Hong Kong (CGCC) and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union (GBA Alliance), comprising around 20 companies, at the Peace Palace. The delegation was led by Mr. Jonathan K.S. Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, Chairman of the CGCC, and Chairman of the GBA Alliance.
During the meeting, the CGCC and GBA Alliance delegation expressed its strong interest in and highly commended Cambodia's rapid progress across all sectors, demonstrating its confidence in Cambodia as an attractive investment destination. The delegation informed Samdech Thipadei that the purpose of its visit was to explore investment opportunities in a number of high-potential sectors, including infrastructure and real estate, banking and finance, technology, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, energy, transport and logistics, aviation, agriculture, education and vocational training, and healthcare.
In response, Samdech Thipadei welcomed the delegation's interest in exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia's high-potential sectors. He highlighted the Royal Government's policies and key measures to encourage investment, including institutional reforms, the simplification of administrative procedures, and tax incentives for high-potential sectors, with a view to supporting the growth and success of investors in Cambodia. Samdech Thipadei further emphasised that the Royal Government remains committed to improving connectivity infrastructure—including road, rail, waterway, and international air transport—to reduce logistics costs. He emphasised that investing in Cambodia provides investors with a gateway to regional and global supply chains through the country's bilateral and regional free trade agreements. Samdech Thipadei also reaffirmed the Royal Government's commitment to maintaining a resilient, competitive, safe, and secure investment environment.
Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei encouraged the CGCC and GBA Alliance delegation to continue engaging closely with the relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to identify and seize concrete investment opportunities in Cambodia.
